Well, we've got ~16 weeks to go in this year, and it's currently at 31.49 million. This leaves 8.51 to go, or a little over 2 million per month.
For the last couple of months, Wii has averaged ~350k per week (some a lot higher, some a lot lower):

This means that it's been doing roughly 1.4 million/month over the last little while.
If we assume the same average for the final four months of the year, we get a further 5.6 million units sold by the end of the year (1.4*4=5.6), putting the system at 37.1 million.
However, that doesn't account for the holiday increases. Here's a comparison chart showing Wii's sales from the beginning of March '07 to the end of December '07:
http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii®1=All&cons2=Wii®2=All&cons3=Wii®3=All&start=39145&end=39446
Last year, Wii went from around 250k on average to around 680k on average, with the week ending December 23 alone seeing more than 1.4 million consoles sold. A little over 3.5 million systems were sold in December '07. If we assumed that the exact same amount sold this year, that would give us 40.6 million sold by the end of the year.
However, this year Wii has outpaced last year at every turn, and I see no reason to believe Christmas will be an exception, especially with games like Animal Crossing and some nice-looking multiplatform games. So it would seem safe to assume that Wii will beat last Christmas by ~1 million at least, putting it at 4.5 million for the month and 41.6 million LTD.
So, I'm making my lowball prediction ~41.6 million for the Wii by the end of the year, with a high of ~42.6.
