The funniest thing about PS3 fans is that every argument they can throw at other consoles, specifically the Wii, can be used by the PC  fans to show that the PS3 is just a mediocre piece of gaming hardware. OH THE IRONY!

Ok I am going to actually take the time out of my day to respond to this...

While PC as a gaming console will always out match those of a console, it is still not viable as such. There are a few reasons while PC gamers get over looked, don't get many big budget releases, and get talked down to.

1. PC gaming is an exspensive venture for the average consumer. I mean look at Crysis, you have to invest in a $1200 computer to simply run it on MEDIUM. PC gaming demands top of the line hardware and it gets rather costly. It will never be more affordable then consoles. Even if certain PC gamers know how to get cheaper fixes on their computers, the fact of the matter is that the common consumer does not.

2. Console's whole entire perpose is mostly focused on gaming. The PS3 deterres from this a bit  but in all it wants to establish itself as the ultimate Entertainment System. PC's tend to have many other tasks involved with it, keeping it from the average consumer eye. Also these other purposes mean you must also shell out somemore cash then those who simpy use their PC/console for gaming.

3. Piracy is rampant within PC gaming. Many companies found that they were not churning out any significant profit from PC games. DMC virtually made none from piracy and lack of interest on PC. Look at Spore, over 4000 people since the last time i checked have downloaded Spore for free off the internet. I am sure that number is much much higher now. This is less likely to happen on consoles.

Very valid point. I got Crysis when it came came out, and played it on a month old £1000 (!) PC (close to $2000), and in some places it struggled to run it on medium! I mean it was on gorgeous 1680 x 1050 resolution, but still...

1. That's funny, cause it ran on my brother's $650 rig on high.

2. What happened to PS3 fans going on all about how the Wii has shit for functionality for not even being able to play DID games? If you are gonna flame other consoles for lack of Blu-ray and what not be prepared to take the same flak from PC gamers. Also, a PC is the only true way to set up your entire home entertainment just the way you want it to your specifications, not the PS3.

3. I'm not gonna argue with the piracy, it does exist. But were you really expecting a cheap port such as DMC to sell well on the PC? PC gamers don't like anything that hints thatthe game is also on a console, like Unreal Tournament 3. the biggest offense to a game is if it feels consolish. I'm one of those pople that dowloaded tSpore last night, my copy is arriving in the mail soon, I just didn't want to wait 5 more days, but they do still get my money.

My point is that everything that a PS3 fan can use against the wii such as: functionality, graphics, depth of games, etc. Goes double for the PC aginst the PS3, so maybe instead of PS3 fans making asses of themselves they shoud just stfu?

Firstly, this was over a year ago now, and secondly us Brits get screwed over when it comes to tech prices

Don't know how these Sony fanboys can bash the Wii anyway. Not while it is outselling the ps3 x2 and the ps3 has NO chance of catching up? Ever?

Did you not see Nintendo's E3 conference? I suppose not, as if you did it would be obvious.

Or all fanboys, but we know how likely that is. The Sony fanboys don't want to face reality, the Microsoft fanboys don't want to acknowledge how new gamers can make the market grow, and the Nintendo fanboys keep whining whenever Nintendo shows a game that isn't going to get at least a "T" rating.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

PS3 is going to sell more consoles in the US this year than the 360 when it's all said and done (it's already outsold the 360 six of the last eight months (it probably beat the 360 by a significant amount in August as well for seven out of 9). All of the 360's exclusive games that have been released this year have received less than 9.0 review scores from IGN and most other publications; and the PS3 is totally dominating the 360 in Europe. The PS3 beat the 360 by close to 50,000 units there last week according to the chart on the front page. In short the 360 is on the way out and the PS3's stature keeps growing. Good Job PS3. It's just like SNES versus Genesis all over again.

My most anticipated games:  Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort.  Cave Story Wiiware.

Whats the E3 conference got to do with it? Wii music and Animal crossing (the main games shown) will probably at least outsell all these ps3 'great white hopes' that are supposed to kill the Wii, by at least 2 to 1 and probably more. And still sales wise nothing will change.

DON'T WIN ME CHIBI BUDDY DON'T WIN ME.

ANIMAL CROSSING NEW LEAF FRIEND CODE:- 5129 1175 1029. MESSAGE ME.
ANDY MURRAY:- GRAND SLAM WINNER!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

Sorry but since when Conference Matters? It does not matter they did show only certain games, What matters is that Wii getting more quality 3rd party support then N64 or GC, and there are many games coming. Just because the conference was dissapointing does not mean anything.

Sony's conference was medicore if anything ,but no one is going on about that.

I'm a Sony fan this generation, although I was a big Nintendo fan the previous 4 generation. I love franchises like Mario and Zelda, but the Wii really rubbed me the wrong way. While I think the control is a good idea, it really needs work in the sensitivity and accuracy, IMO. Also, I like to see what developers can do with higher system specs (like MGS4). I know that the Wii will win the sales war this gen and Sony won't, but I still enjoy what Sony and it's developers are coming out with more than Nintendo.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

The fact that you had to make a thread listing the PS3's accomplishments obviously shows how little it has.

It's like the guy that drives around in a car with a very long front end, trying to overcompensate for other deficiencies?

That and the fact that they showed nothig for hardcore gamers. Hardcore might be interested in Wii Music and stuff but nothing that would ever make me want a Wii. I have seen some really good games for Wii that are rumored and stuff (Fragile?) but nothing that makes me want to up and buy one. Yet it is not like Nintedo needs my money, they make plenty. Still I do not like their approach to gamers like me.
