in the wake of E3 the internet has been flooded with cries of nintendo has abandoned the hardcore and only focusing on casuals. now to my mind wii music is the only casual title from nintndo as i consider both animal crossing and super mario baseball to be bridge titles similar to mario kart. but these titles are apparently not core enough. fatal frame and captain rainbow(yes id say this is core, japanese core mind you) are not countered as they are not seing a western release this year (as far as we are aware). i have no idea why wario doesnt seem to count but oh well.
suddenly disaster is announced for europe which messes everything up. its quite clearly a core title that seems to fit wehat people have been asking for. it is mature themed, involves an engaging story, has a high difficulty mode so cant be 'dumbed down' and is a new IP so cant fall pray to the 'we dont want the same old mario/zelda crap' thing. plus with its variety in gameplay and game modes as well as some interesting replayabillity it looks like it could be a very good game. i see monolith soft becoming another retro for nintendo.
from what ive seen the new argument is either 'too little too late'(which i really dont get) or 'its only one core game' (again wario is forgotten)
put down what you think and what u predict for first year sales
