I'm getting controversial here. We should look at animals, since that is what we are:

I think homosexuality is a natural state for over-populated species. Many cases of homosexuality in animals result are due to overpopulation of their environment, such as a zoo. There are little resources and territory to use so being homosexual makes sense to control the population.

Other cases of homesexuality in animals is to show dominance, such as a make dog humping another male dog, but I do not think this is the case for homosexuality in humans.

P.S. No i wouldn't abort the child and no, abortion is far far different than shooting children.

Homosexuality is caused by numerous factors such as prenatal hormones, environmental factors and possibly choice. With that being said, I would never abort my child under any circumstances (mother's health a possible exception). All people deserve the most basic of human rights and that is the right to life.

I don't know whether homosexuality is biological or not, but being that people's sexuality is not a binary state and there are degrees of homosexuality and heterosexuality I highly doubt it is the result of one gene.
