Actually, I think that the Wii is probably the only "future proof" console of this generation. Thus far, it hasn't required a price cut nor has it been forced to introduce alternate models to keep itself afloat.

 I believe that the reason microsoft and sony are constantly introducing new models and cutting price is that they seem to be adopting a "pc hardware" model with there consoles i.e technology gets cheaper to make and new superior components are released so there's a constant evolution of systems just like a pc



nintendo and sega fan since i was old enough to hold a game controller.

note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)

Oh i do, absolutely but so does the man with a small penis sir, like i said i enjoy rocks posts and threads because of the "desperate" humour, brings a smile to ones face.

 I'm not so sure  - I think he's serious.

He is partially correct though. The X360s don't last 10 years (some do, but many will die), and Wii will be heavily outdated technology wise by 2016 - it will probably be lower tech wise than N64 is today.

The Ps3 will be outdated, but not ridiculously. Also, the Blu-Ray should last for 10 years, meaning that it will be the console with the longest usage.

there is just one small thing you have over looked, and that is the fact that technology isn't expanding at a steady rate but rather in spurts that could very easily make the hardware in the ps3 seem like the wii when new machines are released , already we have faster processors out there, larger more stable hard drives, better graphics cards and so on

there will never be a piece of tech released now, or in teh future that can ever be called future proof
