Maybe Sony wasn't BSing when they said they expected sales to double. Amazon isn't exactly the best indicator, but such massive jump cannot be limited to just them and a handful of CCs and BBs aroudn the country.

Since early January, I have yet to walk in a store and not so a PS3 on the shelves.  In Texas at least they are incredibly easy to find.

I worked today at my Toys R Us. We sold one, early in the morning. That's it.

I still see them on the shelves, $500 is still too high for most consumers



 

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Well the hardcore gamers that new the rumors would of course have been holding back and now bying it. Hoepfully we will see PS3 do some better numbers because just now the charts are boring

 It won't make a difference in Japan and NA and Europe it'll only make a small difference

Yeah they might spike for a few days, but we should really look in the next couple weeks to see if each week has increased (or just the first week its reduced price)

i know its a sony forum, but its interesting how you and a lot of people had the same experience..

i guess $100 does have a huge impact.. also proves that a lot of people are still loyal to the playstation name and are just waiting for something interesting..
