Forums - Nintendo - RE:UC (Wii) - Capcom say the game is a test, maybe more RE to follow...

Yeah, I'm not digging this 'test' business either. I love light gun games so I'll absolutely be picking this up either way, but developers getting lazy with their games to test the waters is getting tiring. "We'll throw them Wii owners a crappy port of a year old game and if they don't buy it we will never support Nintendo again." This isn't really in regard to Capcom since they're actually putting forth an effort with RE:UC and RE4 is fantastic. I'm just saying is all.

I don't actually think anyone is doing that though. Sure there's been a lot of crappy cash in games. But none of the have been tests on which future development is based. At least not that I can think of.

Though it's an exaggeration, it kind of sums up the 3P's attitudes in 2006. Console sales have largely obliterated these attitudes.

More RE games = More RE Spinoffs or RE 5?

Hopefully both lol.  I don't know what system I would buy RE5 on if it came out for both Wii and PS360.  Probably both hehe.

Depends...

RE5 isn't the end-all of RE games yet...nobody knows...

RE:UC plus a couple other spinoffs could end up being more rewarding than RE5 in the end...who knows. And if RE5 comes to the PC, I can always play it there.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Cause RE 4ended up so well on PC.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Everyone who owns a Wii must buy this game. Bodhesatva commands it!

Do others who don't own one have to buy one for it as well?

I don't really like the idea of it being a test either, but I'm sure they've determined it's a good way to get people

to buy Umbrella Chronicles. I was already considering it anyhow.

Why are you suddenly excited about a violent console shooter, I thought you hated those... Or is it that the truth is coming out ;) (as in it was just a way to bash PS3 and 360 games)

Obviously that was a joke. Or did you think that I was literally commanding people I don't know to purchase a game I haven't played? I don't own RE4 Wii edition, or any version of it. I have no plans to buy this Light Gun game. Is that serious enough for you?

However -- just so you know, I have never claimed to be lacking in preferences, as you have. I candidly admit that I prefer the PC first and foremost, followed by the Wii -- I hope both do well, personally. At the same time, I hope that I can be objective with the facts.

In reality, everyone has preferences, whether they admit them or not. Obviously that's true; how can you not have preferences? I have admitted on many occassions that I personally prefer the games on the PC/Wii, and I assume that many people here personally prefer the games on the 360/PS3 (including you, as you've made abundantly clear on many occassions). The goal is to remain objective despite your own preferences, and I think I do a reasonably good job of that.

It's funny, because you phrased this almost as a "gotcha!" post, when in reality it's something I've admitted since joining VGChartz, and it's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone has preferences, including you. If I had to make any distinction, I'd point out that you try to hide your preferences behind a wall of supposed-total-objectivity, when clearly you do have preferences and like everyone else, these preferences tint your view on occassion (or, perhaps, on many occassions).

This would be optimal, but Bodhesatva does not command it.

Yeah, I'm embellished a little there. Unless third parties are allergic to making money, I doubt they'll withhold support. Still don't like the testing stuff. What are we animals? Plumber loving animals?

Current systems owned: Wii, 360. I'll get a PS3 when hell freezes over!... or when the price drops to a reasonable level. Whichever comes first.
