Forums - Nintendo - I think Wii music should be just Wiiware

Less than a year ago, people were saying the same thing about Wii Fit.

No People were not saying the same things about WiiFit as about WiiMusic. WiiMusic looks like a stinker. The discussion about WiiFit was if it would sell huge or just good. Not many people said it would flop.
That's different for Wii Music, it was the most hated game at E3. Gaming press people were unequivocally calling it the disappointment of the show. Every trailer is replied to with ridicule and bad ratings. This thing will flop.

Because the ones you mentioned have peripherals for it, and it serve as a function. Link's crossbow training for light gun games, Wii zapper, wii play for the wiimote, wii fit for the balanceboard, serve for other genres like skating and skiing and snowboarding games, wii sports as the console as a whole and wii sports resort for wii motion plus. What function do Wii music have? NONE... Even members here even they enjoy wii fit buy wii fit not for wii fit alone but the possibility the balance board have and thats what Ninty wants.

Anyway, WE KNEW that wii music will be a million seller but theres no value on that game whatsoever. Only Ninty wants to cash in the music game craze...

Yeah! You tell 'em. Nintendo can't sell anything that doesn't have a peripheral attached to their games.

Wii is doom!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wii X brand is too strong for a Wii Ware only release , Wii Poo would probably sell.

@Kyros: And Wii Fit was considered the best thing since sliced bread by gaming press? Wii Music has the excact same thing as Wii Fit. Besides, not many people are calling Wii Music a flop, most are discussing whether it will sell good or huge.
Besides, Wii Music is about jamming, the same thing as you would buy a real guitar, unlike Guitar Hero for example.

Nope but nobody said it sucks. And this has to be one of the nicer comments about Wii Music.

Wii Music has the excact same thing as Wii Fit.

No it doesn't. Fitness is a huge market. Fitness devices are a huge market. It was not clear if this could be translated to great sales for WiiFit. But nobody denied the potential. Wii Music on the other hand is ridiculous and I cannot see the target group. (Which was crystal clear for WiiFit)

Besides, not many people are calling Wii Music a flop

We will see. Google "embarrassing" and "Wii Music" and you will find hits galore.

@Kyros: Wii Fit was supposed to be the "end of gaming", the prime example of "non-game". It faced heavy opposition, just like Wii Music.

Fitness exercises sell well, indeed, but so does musical instruments, music software on computers etc. Look, Wii Music enters another huge market outside gaming. If you buy a piano to your home, you propably aren't going to have a concert, but you jam with it. Or you buy software for your PC, such as Dance e-Jay and improvise your own music.
Also, Wii Music was the software that was used when Wii Remote was introduced, and i don't think i'm the only one to who Wii Music sold the Wii in the first place.
With Wii Music, you don't apparently need to know how to play instruments, so you can focus on jamming.
And besides, Wii Music makes a lot more sense than Guitar Hero. In Guitar Hero, all you can do is press certain buttons in certain order, instead of playing. Look, the difference between, for example Guitar Hero and Wii Music is similar than differences between railshooters and FPS:s, or 2D and 3D platformers, or linear and sandbox games.
If you think that Wii Music is getting more opposition, is because people believe it will sell better than Wii Fit, or they know it will sel l atleast in similar fashion.

Its much better this way, I can accept Animal Crossing to be a full priced game but Wii Music?!! Even casual gamers will be shy away to buy this game, I think this game will be flopped. if Im wrong then WELL I'LL BE...

I disagree.  I think Wii Music should not be released on anything.

Here is why Wii Music will sell over 5 million:

hardcore: "how do I win?!?"
mainstream: "wow, this is fun!"

Like all new console games for the last 20 years, Wii Music will be worth full price. There is no valid reason for it to be worth any less.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.
