I don't agree with him, but he doesn't annoy me.

He is a reasonable man in an unreasonable environment.

I don't get this stance.  I mean... Joe Liberman and John McCain agree a lot more then Joe Liberman and Barak O'Bama.

Hence the support.

Heck, Liberman and McCain agree more then McCain and super rightwing people... because McCain and Liberman are both near the center.  McCain slightly right, Liberman slightly left.

Actually McCain is more far right on a classical political scale.  Lieberman is somewhere between centrist and totalitarian.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

What on there is supposed to show me where or how Joe Liberman and John McCain are?

Also, if that's the case... why do Liberman and McCain say they agree on a lot of things... why was Liberman McCains favorite choice despite the fact that everyone told him it was a bad idea?

To me... on that list it looks like McCain would be squarely between Regan and Clinton.

@Kas
It was a speech I heard him do about a month or so ago. But really I know both candidates are great choices, McCain is a very good man with a good head on his shoulders, both are very common sense type people and is something I like, I'm leaning towards Obama at the moment cause I truly see Obama being able to do more for the country cause he could convince congress to go with him more then McCain could for obvious reasons. But if McCain wins I would be happy as well cause he truly looks out for the country and won't back down to anyone.

They both believe in putting personal/group security before personal liberty.
McCain believes in economic freedom.
Lieberman is a centrist when it comes to economic issues.

I am a classical liberal, I like personal and economic freedom. Unlike most classical liberals and libertarians, I tend to vote democrat and they tend to vote republican (and call themselves conservative, which we are from dictionary view of the word, but not the Social Science definition).

While I support freedom equally in the U.S. two party system, I find the U.S. modern democrats (Clinton head) much closer to my interest. Republicans say they support freedom, but they are too tied to corporate interest.

My views are so out there typically I have to vote for whichever person fits me best for each election, for the past two elections the candidates have not fit anything I would want in a leader, I know Bush was the lesser of the two evils but really this year is looking up for me cause both Obama and McCain seem like people that fit my views much more then in the past.

I'm a very common sense type, that likes personal and economic liberty, I like as many freedoms as possible and keeping them secure while still trying to keep enough structure to make it work. I'm not prudish at all in fact I think nudity should be fine on TV, yet I still believe in no sex before marriage (odd combination I know) but I see being open about taboo make it much easier to educate people to make good choices, my town has the highest teen pregnancy rate per ca pita in the state and the state has the highest teen pregnancy rate for the country, so I know a lot about why people made bad mistakes in their lives, it's a prudish town where people want to be so strict on that sort of thing younger people aren't really even educated on subjects like that, thankfully my mom was way more open and I was educated. I think if we're open on all topics then people can truly learn about it so I think censorship is very wrong and will never solve the problem.

Yeah, damn Joe Liberman actually judge his policies and candidates based on his own opinions rather then toe the line for the party due to blind loyalty.

Joe Lieberman is upset that the Democrats didn't elect him in the Democratic primary last year.  Joe Lierberman went on to win the general election as an indpendent because of moderate Republicans.

Lieberman is acting entirely out of self-interest, if he had won the Democratic primary you would have saw him at the DNC instead.

I had no idea Connecticut had so many moderate republicans...

and that those 48% of democrats who voted for him in the primaries totally all changed thier votes.

Gee I wonder why the state always goes to Democrats... what with there large majority of conservative republicans.

Moderate republicans voted for him... sure.  However so did Moderate Democrats, and Independents.  Cause he's a centrist.

He has as much, if not more to lose by supporting McCain then he does Obama.

I'm irritated by Lieberman because he's tried so hard throughout his career to adopt various forms of censorship throughout media.

I respect him because he gave his party the finger and is doing what he thinks is right for the country. Obama would do well to pay attention. His 97% party voting line is not a good thing.

Conservative Republicans voted Republican.  Liberal Democrats voted Democrat.  Many moderate Democrats who voted for Lieberman in the primary supportedhim in the general election, but not enough to get him more votes than the Democrat primary winner (hence why he lost the primary in the first place)...

So Moderate Republicans won the election for Lieberman.

And yes, there are a lot of Moderate Republicans in Connecticut.  Northerners tend to like their personal freedoms.  The Republican candidate got 10 percent of the vote, with 50 percent going to Lierbman and 40 percent going to Lamont.

He gave his party the finger after they gave him the boot.  I dont see how seeking revenge makes one gain respect.
