I fail to see how this is labeled a "debacle" by the article writer. A debacle would have to have some kind of conflicting reports, misinformation or something in general going wrong in the first place. This just seems to be another guy confirming what Cliff said before. Maybe I'm crazy or the english language is hard to grasp.

A debacle is Bungie saying they are going to show a trailer of a new game at E3 then they never end up getting to show it.

You are correct, that was a complete and ****ing total debacle. I was pissed. It better blow my brain out of my ass when they finally announce it.

Load up Ghost Recon and imagine you're shooting grunts instead of mexican terrorists.  That seems to be what everybody thinks it's going to be.  Which would be fine with me (minus the shitty GRAW cover system).

Microsoft is tired of people playing for free.
PC players would not buy Xbox Live subs -- so this is their revenge, they won't release (themselves) any PC games that are from their console collection.
It makes good (short-run) business sense -- but may force people to start buying substitutes from your competitors (bad long-run business).

I don't see how keeping something exclusive forces people to buy from your competition...

So the PS3 keeping MGS4 and LBP makes people go out and buy X360's and Wii's?  I don't buy it.  Exclusives are one of the biggest factors in purchasing a console imo.

I guess he could mean PC players who refuse to pay for online might instead turn to other PC games rather than get a 360 or I suppose a PS3 assuming online remains free.

I understand why MS might not release on PC.  I also understand that short term, given the PC gaming community has been a bit touchy about MS commitment to the platform they're going to get hassled from that community.

I think MS is worried about big titles not being perceived as truly exlusive if they appear on the PC (this is objective but clearly a fair number of people see it that way) and want to firm up on 360 versions as being exclusive.  Depending upon how things go right now I think its 50/50 they'll release on PC quietly a year later.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

This thread is proving the point I was trying to make to shio a while back. If MS doesn't port their big games to the PC those gamers get upset. If they do then they are ridiculed for not actually having the game 360 exclusive. It seems no matter the route they take it is wrong. I think they should keep all their games exclusive to the 360 if only to silence the fanboys who say their games aren't truly exclusive.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

ppl just need to grow up, if u want the best possible way to play gears2 u get a 360 if u dont already have one. otherwise stop complaining about a game that may come to the pc if u lucky a year later. its so funny how pc ppl give ms crap for not annouceing a game for their platform that is designed 1st and formost for the 360, get over it. either get the game on the 360 or stop crying.
