Forums - Nintendo - Disaster: Day of Crisis to be released on October 24 in Europe

I'm not sold that this is a must-have title, could suck for all we know but DAMN-IT Japan has Fatal Frame 4, Europe gets Disaster: DoC and what does NA get for Christmas season? Notta!!

Yes, I know AC, Wii Music, Warioland but all three territories are getting those.

Ah well... There's already more coming out than I'll have time to play but I still feel a little cheated

Ok, you who think Nintendo isn't advertising this, why should they do it months in advance? Nobody's going to remember anyway the hype 3 months back. It still has nearly 2 months to get hype before release.

We all know, that Nintendo's core games are sold to a very specific crowd.  Nintendo could say, "Hey it comes out next tuesday" and we would all line up like good little soldiers.

The only reason they don't put it that close? Because they don't want to cause an increase in convenience store robberies and muggings.  They like to give us some time to transfer from the money market to the checking.

LOL!!

Just kiss the tip.

Maybe Europe won't get Animal Crossing and Wii Music this year. I am so sad if that is true........................................NOT!

This is great news for the Europeans.I hope it also see's release this year in the U.S.
And i thought Nintendo said they won't have any more suprises this year?Well it seems this is one.

THIS IS BAD... really really bad. If not for the Op I never knew this game will be released. And we never heard of this game except for the new screenshots and such. Ninty didnt even hype this or make this game even existed.

Atleast Fatal Frame IV have a hype on it.

Nintendo started advertising a month before Metroid Prime 3 release. I think they go the similar way for disaster.

But I really don't understand this new way from nintendo to advertise games only short before release.

It's not new, it's pretty much how Nintendo has worked since the N64 days.  They don't want to reveal too much too soon.  Remember how many people ripped off Super Mario 64 before it actually came out.

That's a better way to go than to have, say, a new Zelda game everyone knows about that suffers enough delays for people to have to wait nearly two years for it to show up.

mm me thinks Nintendo are really serious about letting third parties have the limelight yet trying to keep the hardcore gamers happy by releasing games lke this.

They know we h/core gamers will learn of it's release by the internet and third parties dont get put in the dark with their holiday releases.

First day purchase for me.

:) So happy.

If there are still people who are not convinced, the story is now on Nintendo's European website.

Cool, now im convinced

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I think people are confusing "advertising when the game comes out" with "no advertising" when it comes to Metroid Prime 3. Maybe I'm from an alternate timeline, but I seem to remember TV commercials and a Metroid Prime 3 channel with daily video updates.
