I don't think a remodel of the DS will come any time soon since the sales are still high for the DS.

why would the new model play an arcade game?

The DS is increasing YoY WW. It is dipping in Japan, so a remodel could come there this FY (I doubt it), but trust me, there won't be a new DS remodel in PAL or US for 12 months.

am I the only one that thinks that this concept drawing looks terrible, and like it would break the moment you touch it...huge smudgey touch screen and scrathces galore

I can see them ditching the GBA slot (rendering a few games obsolete) in order to make the device a whole lot thinner and lighter.

 Even if the sales numbers are dropping, look at the DS's sales in Japan--going by percentages alone, it's sold way better there than anywhere else.  Going by numbers, Japan should probably be slowing in sales the soonest since it's population is so much smaller than the North American or Others regions. 

A DS with 2 touch screens wouldn't be that great. It would be better if they just gave the bottom screen multi-touch abilities.

no others loves the ds too much for that, I mean just look : 260k a week ...
