Not entirely sure. LBP seems like it'll be a system seller for the PS3. Also, the PS3 has a great software lineup for the rest of the year but, with a 360 price cut on it's way, it's tough to say. Is it possible? Yep. Is it probable? eh, only time will tell.

No not remotely. If anything, the PS3's declining sales will cause it to fall further behind.

 I don't doubt they're cookin' up yet another PS3 SKU, but Sony already said they can't afford to do any more price cuts in the immediate future, otherwise they won't be making any money back on the thing.  With MS looking at some price cuts--pretty steep cuts so far in Japan--they'll likely garner higher sales than Sony as we cruise into the holidays.

God damnit if I see one more damn person use current sales to explain what will happen this holiday season I am going to snap. THINGS DON'T WORK LIKE THAT! When the consoles go from selling 100-200,000 a week to selling 300,0000-500,000 a week the difference won't be the same!

This is the slowest time of the year! If nothing changes, as sales goes up so will the difference, making it very possible for the PS3 to bring it within 3,000,000 by the end of the year.

Or it could go completely the other direction, but regardless of what you believe saying that its not possible because it currently only outsells the 360 by 50,000 is stupid.

For instance, the 360 sold 3,085,000 up to this point last year while the PS3 sold 3,200,000. From this point on, the 360 sold 67% more than it did up to this point in the holiday season while the PS3 sold 48% more.

This year, the PS3 sold 6,189,000 while the 360 has sold 4,594,000 up to this point. Using the hardware jump %, the PS3 would sell a little over 9,000,000 consoles this winter while the 360 would sell a little over 7,700,000.

This is being very generous to the 360, since the real reason for that jump was the huge Halo numbers, so saturation would make 67% more hardware sales during the holiday season than in the first 8 months EXTREMELY unlikely, yet the 360 still would be outsold by 1.3million consoles.

So this isn't only possible, its actually very probable. Selling 50% more during the holiday season than in the first 8 months is very possible, and that would put the PS3 at 9,000,000 on the year. The PS3 also has the biggest potential console seller in LBP, whether people admit it not, since it is the first respectable effort for an HD console to create demand for the casual group. (Ratchet and Clank, Viva Pinata, Singstar have all been really half assed attempts, never the highlight of the lineup.)

I think the lead will be cut down to within 2,000,000 by the end of the year WW, and I also think the 360's price cut will have the 360 sell more than 100,000 only one week in September, and would still be outsold WW if the PS3 wasn't having a "bottleneck".

ya they gained a million in 2 years maybe they'll get the other 2 million in 4 months and both console have really solid games coming out more so the 360 and the price drop for the 360 could push it back over 6 million by the end of the year.

In short I doubt it last year the 360 did really well in the holiday season halo 3 and cod4 didnt hurt this year Gears of war 2 will out sell resistence 2 and probably move more consoles too.

But will have to wait and see on that.

who cares, anyway the ps3 will win this battle. so is stupid to talk about this, the 360 cut down is gonna do only a little push in the global sales, and then, all will be the same as is now

Price cuts will have a great effect on Xmas sales. I'd say X360 might even outsell PS3 this year.
