Forums - Microsoft - Beautful Katamari 360 Exclusive?

This might interest some people!

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/802/802313p1.html

I have played the original Katamari a few times and it was fun, but I don't know how much this would appeal to others. Especially since the original fanbase may already have PS3's.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Like I said I'm not sure of it's appeal on a widespread base. I don't know how much of a following this game has. Will this upset PS3 owners? Will this help Microsoft bring in more casuals?

A game that is most popular in Japan is coming exclusively to the least selling console in Japan... MS must have paid lots of dough for this one and I don't think it was worth it business wise.

I'll still probably at least check it out.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I dont think it will be exclusive, rumor has it a Wii version is in the works.

From http://www.jolt.co.uk/index.php?page=chat.php

"As revealed by Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, the development team at Namco decided to pull the plug on the PS3's Katamari not because of flagging sales (as previously suggested), but because they accounted 'programming problems' on Sony's next-gen system"

PS360 ftw!

Currently playing..........

Gears of War 2, GTA IV Lost and Damned, Little Big Planet (Yes I said I had no interest but my girl wanted to try it and we did and now Im hooked )

The very same Famitsu article also confirmed that Katamari is coming to the Wii, so it's also coming to by far the best selling console in Japan.

 That makes more sense.

Agree, but I don't understand why they stayed on xbox360 if it is mainly a Japanese game. I mean shouldn't it be better going Wii/PS3?

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

For one thing rob, the game was fairly succesful in NA. It was a cult game to be sure, but there's a market for it in all a regions. Because of that, it makes sense to have it on the 360, as it has a large NA userbase, and obviously the Wii, since it sells well everywhere.

As for the lack of a PS3 version. The company officially said it was because there were problems with the development process. Whether thats true or not... who knows?

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.
