HD console fans on the Internet blabbed endlessly in the months leading up to GTA4 that that game would be the "Game of the Generation," and that it would propel the HD consoles to overtake the Wii permanently.

Turns out that GTA4 couldn't sell many consoles. But guess what could? Wii Fit. :)

 

Wow, did not know that. Guess hindsight's 20/20. WiiFit is a total beast. Might it be the first game to sell 100 million?

It is a fact, not opinion that GTA4 has fallen completely out of the top fifty games in just over four months in NA and almost dropped out worldwide. I'm not sure that the "best game of the generation" should have such incredibly short legs, if that can be called having legs at all. In comparison, the AVERAGE time that DS games stay in the top fifty is over 1 year and the Average for Wii games is over six months.

To be honest Ive found GTA4 to be a bit on the boring side to... but in the same time I can see why many people like it... I guess its not a game for absolutly everyone :)

GTA IV is a good game, i've played it on Xbox few times and enjoyed it, but it's not as good as reviews said. But i do undrestand how it can get boring, because every GTA game is pretty much this same, same scenario, similar missions and overall experience, R* should try to evolve , but then why if it's a comercial hit.

I wholeheartedly agree. The GTA serious is a boring game, and not only that, the games have always been crap from a technical point of view. The series is a jack of all trades, master of none. It sells on controversy, and controversy alone.
