It may not sound alot to you but 2 Million active users = Alot of potential revenue .

 

Personaly I feel that Microsoft won't react to Home unless it becomes a success probably meaning we wouldn't see an MS equivalent this generation if takes anywhere as long as Sony's version did. Microsoft often use tried and tested methods as opposed to oringinal or innovative things.

 

It doesn't matter whether its a success or not, they won't copy it. Thats not an online experience. Thats a virtual experience. Get it straight.

Are you serious ? Microsoft will copy anything that works on another console if they feel it'll benefit the XBOX brand.

Yes, which is why they took from the Wii. That is a healthier approach to the online Exp. Everything is at your finger tips and yet you can have your avatars that can be used in videogames such as 1vs 100, Monopoly and more. The Wii allows you to do the same things in their wario, mario kart and other party games. :)

Home is a purely virtual experience that blends videogame aspects, while you're online. Like the sims, yet advertising Sony shit at every turn. It's a virtual simulation of life.

Home is not doing anything that cannot be done in WOW, Second Life, or the Sims. Get it straight. This is no different than these games. Actually...it's less useful than WOW because at least in WOW you can fight and make spells and stuff. What type of people use WOW & Second Life? It sure as hell isn't casual people. This is not something that Microsoft has any need to follow. They've nearly perfected the online experience. What you're paying for with Live is an online experience. As i've always said, I'd hate to see how far Microsoft takes Xbox Live with the 720 for the sake of Sony fanboys health. PSN is just fine for Sony finally figured out how to make a online experience, and I kind of like the Wii's simplistic approach.

I will try to explain a few things though.

Sony keeps expanding the experience of the playstation in new ways. Not to with any product win the war, but as a total package being massivly better. That's how it works. It's not just home. It's home, integrated with the games, integrated with psn, integrated with the xmb, integrated with your friendslist.. etc etc. They want to integrate all parts of the experience and that is where they succeed. And that is what will make Home successful.

 

It would be extremely foolish for you to say that Home wasn't created to battle the online superiority of Live. Just because i'm not pro PS3 like you, doesn't mean I don't want one and that i'm not a fan of Tekken. I'm a huge fan of Tekken. You can bet your bottom dollar that i'll get it, and theres nothing loyalists like you can do about it. I'll get MGS4 too which is one of my favorite franchises in gaming and i'll laugh in your face with that. Home is taking the online experience too far, where it needs not be. It will be too scattered and you will be bombarded. Think about a time when your online experience was bearable, now...it will be impossible once you're adding every fool who walks by and challenges you. Hey "lets go shopping together!"Where do you live? "Bancock!" Oh...ok..i'll run over to the store. This is a depiction of home as i've seen from movies of it. It's not online, its second life. Get it through your head (I don't care if you want it, it's optional) that it will take your online experience where it needs not be. Watch certain people are going to get sick of it and get rid of it after a while.

 

 

I didn't say you weren't a fan of tekken. Simply that you were unworthy of the tekken avatar with your uninformed posts.

I don't care if you will get tekken, infact the more it sells the better. Why on earth would i mind ? Go ahead.. laugh.. i'll laugh with you. It'll be fun.

The issue isn't that you aren't pro sony, but that you are freakishly anti sony. Don't say you aren't. You barely have anything postive to say and you disregard anything said by others and attack any pro sony or pro playstation post in a poor attempt to force your own opinion through.

Basically you are saying that evolution is fail. Well, not evolving things is true fail. Expanding things isn't a bad thing. That's like saying the guy who ptu the jump button in fps games was a prick. I don't personally want to go back to doom 2. (not that it's not a good game.. but games today are superior in many ways)

 

If you really don't like home don't get it. I personally think that it can add to the online experience and not  "ruin it" like you claim. You will see.. in time you will learn. Hopefully.

All that shit is old news... Microsoft has been doing that since 2005... adding Home doesn't make it something more than it is it just adds a 3D interface to your online play.  I think that at best the mini games/arcades/billards style games will be the only draw besides pimping your room/apartment.  How do you know a service is good? When 10 million people pay for that service.  Live is a intergrated service while Home has a distinctly tacked on feel to it and it's probably optional.

 

Aparently you failed to understand what i meant. I'll cut it out as much as i possibly can.

 

Sony is creating a home entertainment center. It's no longer Just a games console.

They want to bring all of the good shit out of the bedrooms and into the living rooms without it being too hardcore. (they have done this since ps1 you know)

 

What they are doing with home is creating a online community where you can establish a visual feel for the "playstation world" in a sense.

Home enables you to (almost) be at the big events. E3, Games convention, TGS etc.

They bring a lot of features in one package where you get a visual overlook of the features instead of text. This is very wise as a lot of casual players probably will be more interested in it than, for instance, xmb (or any other less visual "menu" of any system.)

 

That is not a home entertainment center. A Home entertainment center consists of all entertainment electronics with bases and compartments in the same room. (IE: TV, DVD Player, Cabinets, Surround sound etc). All those things will be available to you in Home when you create your little barbie dream house. You're not using your words correctly.


This is why Sony had to cut the production costs by half  (Before the first three years, which is murder) to catch up in the game because they focused LESS on gaming.First off all Sony has nothing to do with why the PS1 was so great, it was Kutagari who had to force Sony to realize that they needed to get into making videogames if they want to save themselves (From dying out to their competitors) since it was a booming market with Nintendo and Sega at the helm. The head board members laughed at him. Kutagari wants to keep the gaming alive, while Sony wants to throw everything at you. Theres nothing  that Home can do to make you feel like your at E3 more than the real thing. They will only show Sony games and not the competitors. It's a one sided show and you're all for it.

 

All the outcrossed is wrong...
