The score is pretty much what I was expecting... so there is no surprise here...

The reviewers do sometimes give away to hype.

I have the game and I am about 60% done. I kind of agree with the reviewer. There are a lot of bugs and the voices and AI are stupid and annoying

They usually don´t bother me very much, because if the enemy was smart the game would be too hard. There are too many enemies with RPGs, tanks, choppers, etc. Even with the poor AI it´s tough at first and they still surprise occasionally with their firepower.

The one that bothers me the most is the helicopter pilot. Sometimes you throw a smoke, lose the money and fuel and he won´t bring the item (that happened 3 times with). Nothing appears on the screen (sometimes the chopper can be shot down by the enemy), he just doesn´t come. Also he sometimes gets stuck and I ´ve seen him winch the wrong thing and not move instead of unhooking the winch.

However, and it is a big however, the game is a lot of fun. The explosions are amazing. Pretty, great sound effects, everything. Using all the weapons, tanks, vehicles, choppers, it´s all good.

I´m loving this game. If someone asks me I´d say that this game is just like the first. The good and the bad. But I love the first one. So :)

P.S. - Driving is ok. BUT I hate, hate the driving in water part. I have some "follow the trail in a certain amount of time" and I hate it.

agree with you 100 percent. In fact, I enjoyed and almost everyone of my friends enjoyed playing merc1 far more then any GTA game. Why do people favor GTA ?! :s It's not polished in any aspect as a game. it's got lots of missions granted, from which majority of them are repetitive, graphics are average at best and gameplay is nothing special...oh and they have the crappiest story lines ever.

Considering that GTA is a series with open ended gameplay in a seamless sandbox, GTAIV actually had some pretty good graphics

Makes sense. Some people consider JRPGs outdated even though a lot of those people never even played one before and this is just because there is no actual roleplaying in them

isnt this game going to be a around £40 retail anyway, that means the game will be 10 quid cheaper than other games, so i think its fair to give it at least one extra point to that review, or unless they took this into account arleady and its actualy 6 out of 10.

i might get it becaues i like onilne and its got coop
