Forums - Gaming - An article from a Wii owner who's "Not So Impressed With the Wii Anymore"

Didn't Kwaad post almost exactly similar post sometime at spring? He of course had more errors in typing...

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Well I remember reading thread after thread with links to articles about 360 hardware failure so what's the big deal about an article like this? I'm curious though, he has to be lying about the 4 year old winning some games of WiiSports Tennis by just waving his arms up and down right?

I'm sure he's not; I've won games of Tekken by simply mashing buttons.

And I agree, posts like this are totally fine.

The controller has its limits not because I suck at using it but because the controller kinda sucks. The fact that I often get beat by my four year old nephew at WiiSports Tennis when all is does is wave his arm up and down shows the limited control you actually have over the controller. The fact that over the holidays, the entire family would play together and no one consistently won shows that the games involved more luck than skill.

Sorry, somethings tells me he didn't play that much tennis. No freshman (comming to me to see what the "WII is about") beats me there, tennis is the game in WII sports skill matters the most. The things like spin, where the ball will go to a lot of things in that game needs practice.

I don't think he owns that game or read the manual OR even botherd to play a lot or has a WII at all.

I've got to agree. If you get beat by someone who is merely waving their arms around, it's because, realistically, your motions aren't much better than random waving either. Luck is only a factor if neither player knows what he's doing. I know people who dominate me at that game every time - it's because they're better than I am, not because the controller sucks (which is the oldest excuse in gaming).

Maybe other things are occupying your time. Don't blame the wii. I admire the wii especially on First Person Shooters. Wii should have more FPS. I am thinking of getting xbox360 or ps3 but I have no thoughts of selling my wii to get the cash. Wii just needs more games.

I probably shouldn't have posted this article. Hopefully a mod closes it.

<-- One Wii owner who doesn't see a problem with this thread.

I think it's possible that a 4 year old beat him in tennis by waving his arms around, but if that's true, then he really sucks at tennis.  The tennis game isn't just arm waving, you can place the ball exactly where you want in your opponents' court and get them running back and forth.

I consistently beat my friends who don't have Wiis in all five games.  Just because you aren't pressing buttons doesn't mean that there isn't skill involved.

Onto the OP: His lack of skills at Wii Sports aside, I see where he's coming from.  Although there have been plenty of non-party game releases recently, the Wii is still suffering from launchitis.  Its lineup is not as rich as it should be, and it doesn't have stellar titles in many genres.  I'm with him in that I've very rarely played my Wii since about February after we got bored with Warioware.  I picked up Wii Play last week and have been playing it all week, but between the end of February and the beginning of July, I used my Wii only to play VC titles and Gamecube titles.

The thing is, this mirrors my experience with every other console I've ever owned.  I buy the console and a few games, play them for a while, and then I busy myself with other things for a while.  Some new games come out, I play them, and then they, too, start to collect dust.  The best games get dusted off once in a while, the mediocre ones don't.  That's just how it goes.

In summary, a few of his points seem nitpicky and lame, but overall, I agree with where he's coming from.  I do, however, think that he's making a mountain out of a mole hill, and that maybe his expectations for the Wii were too high.

Course they are, but they are also very boring.

Personally I'd never start a post going "Hey Hi thought you might be interested there's a guy here who hates the 360 so maybe I'm not the only one hehe nevermind just thought I'd better inform you cause yeah it's interesting"

That's hypocritical, don't you think? He knows very well that this "story" is as generic and old as it gets. And then take a look at his signature...

And this story might be the blueprint for a fake phoney user report. Notice how nowadays, every solid trolling starts with "Now first let me state that I'm the biggest *insert company* fan in existance, I own every single *insert previous products* they ever made. And *insert company's most successful product* is my favourite *whatever* ever."

Yawn, no big deal, just a bit annoying.

Cheers

It's really fine.  I don't think this thread is going to attract any more fanboy attention than all the Sony price drop and MS RROD threads -- probably less.

I don't consider it trolling at all. Trolling would be like bringing in evidence that the Wii "sucks" and try to make it clear. This is just an opinion. But, from who exactly?

Sorry, I have to point this out. If your losing at Wii Spports, maybe your a Wii ||008. I can beat the rest of my family at the gam,e. Maybe they phail less then you.

No posting it is ok. I read it and if just would have written "Im not intressted in my WII anymore...".. it would be ok, he doesn't have to. But if he writes stuff like "I was beaten by a 4 year old" its clear that something is wrong.  You see its a troll.
