I got a Samsung drive on my new April produced Falcon. I also notice a lot less heat coming out of the back for sure, but the thing sounds like a tank. I'm waiting for that optional install to drive update coming this Fall because thats going to reduce quite a bit of heat output.
@mrstickball - That sounds like great news. I guess it comes down to those that had a launch console with no problems yet (I was one of them till early July) that will need their console replaced, but shouldn't have any problems with the new Opus motherboard. I just read that most consoles as of two months ago get replaced with the Opus which is esentially a non-hdmi Falcon MOBO. I'm hoping I get one back because I'm selling my refurb to a friend after grabbing a Falcon elite.
Of course I'll probably grab a "Vahlalla" or whatever It's called in two years if the Elite ever drops again and I can get cash for my old one. Just for reliability and performance purposes.
It's just that simple.
