 Although posting something like that (OP) here is kind of preaching to the choir... I'd bet the average board poster/reader has a good sense of what games they are willing to pay for.

I do feel bad for myself when I do get duped by something that my gamer sense warned me not to buy, so I can sympathize with your plight. but Beware the dark Side... er I mean the advertizers. People can make games look AAA these days and fail to deliver.

Also, I know most people seem to be happy with Nintendo's latest titles but to me, I feel I got ripped off, and I propose as a real gamer, that I will no longer give Nintendo benefit of the doubt. I will no longer automatically buy a full price Nintendo title until I get info on it. I SWEAR BY IT. (it's why I haven't bought Mario Galaxy and Mario & Sonic Oylimpics yet).

by not buying a game that you are unsure of it's quality, has never really appealed to you, that everyone else says is already bad. Case in point...

I work at Gamestop. A customer walks to my counter looking to buy Def Jam: ICONS. I look at the game with disgust, then back at him. I ask him if he has played the game before. He says "NO". I ask him if he has ever played one of the other ones in the genre before, "NO". I tell him that most HATE this game, including myself and always return it promptly. He says he does not care. I tell him the game scored epically low in every way imaginable, he still does not care. He buys said game. He returns the next day, I laugh because I know what he wants, he wants to return it. He seems almost pissed at ME because he bought that CRAPTASTIC game while not heeding my warning.

Now that game has achieved one more point in sales. One more point to make it seem as if it is a GOOD game. Now when the developers return to look at the profits made for it, it has reached 1million in sales. Majority still HATE this game, but many have bought it and returned it nonetheless. Now the company will recreate this sucky game to be sold again with the same situation repeating itself.

THis my friend is what I fear....

 If you wamt people to stop complaining about the list then remove. So long as it is there it is a going to be taken as a list of examples for everyone, and rightfully so. If you want a discussion that does not involve bashing your taste in games then don't put the list up.

doesn't a game have to be 90+ on metacritic for it to be AAA?
