@Dogs Rule I know what games are on the PSP, there's no need to paste a huge list to try and impress me because it doesn't. |
If you had bothered to read the introductions to the lists, you'd see that it was of games that can be purchased online therefore that run off the memory card which would reduce your perceived battery life problems despite the fact that most every PSP owner in this thread have been content with the life of its battery.
The last thing I'm desperately looking for is your approval or to impress you.
Sony never learns...
Someone tried arguing with me that you could just buy multiple PSP batteries for like $5 a piece and just interchange them for extended life on trips, lol.
People stopped trying to defend UMD a long time ago, maybe it time we stop trying to rationalize the terrible battery life.

When is the average person ever going to need a handheld's battery to last for 10 hours straight? Five hours for the PSP is fine. It's not like it's the Gamegear which only lasted 1.5 hours and you had to stay plugged into a wall at every moment you played it. Do you think it would be selling so well if the battery life were that big of a deal? |
It'd be selling better. My DS can sleep forever. Let a PSP sleep for a bit, and your playtime ends.

If its like my 7 month old (heavily used so far) PSP battery only 1/2 hour shorter, it will last for 5 hours when playing a game from a disk with max brightness and 1/4 to 1/3 of max sound.
Not too bad of a trade off..... the battery is already like...... 7 hours on low light..... 6 and a half isn't too bad.....
4 ≈ One

I've accidentally put my PSP into sleep mode instead of powering it off a few times. I can turn it on a day or two later and it's still good for a few hours of play.

My DS is a year old and I get 12 - 15 hrs/charge on the 3rd brightest setting. Maybe you need a new battery. |
I get 20ish hours out of a charge with the lowest brightness setting and no sound. I require high battery life though so I do my best to maximize it. 10ish hours really isn't enough for me. I forget to charge things constantly. I have to turn my phone off all the time at work so I can actually make calls later in the day because I will forget to charge it for days. less than ten hours is as good as telling me I can only play the system every other day at best. I know I am not the norm, but there are people out there that really do use battery life to its fullest.
Less battery life? Don't get me wrong, I love my PSP to death, but the short battery life does bug me. (Lucky for me, I usually get home to charge it before its completely drained). It's a good thing I wasn't all that interested in upgrading from my 2000 anyway. =D
