If not, save yourself a couple hundred bucks and just stick with the DS if it's ideal for your tastes.
Nobody needs to come up with excuses not to buy something they don't want. "I don't want to have to charge it up, I don't want to buy an extra battery, the screen is too bright for me, it doesn't play DS games, etc. etc."
Don't buy. Save your money.

I didn't say there weren't enough games. Actually, if you bothered reading my earlier posts I even said it finally has the library that would make me consider getting it (and the other features -- minus the battery life -- of the 3000 push me over the edge).
My point in saying the list was stupid was because posting a long list of games never impresses. I can make a long list for any console ever made. I don't care. What I care about it games I like, not just some long list of every game available.
As for the battery, that is still a concern for me. True, I rarely go more than 6 hours without being near a wall socket, but I do like to keep my charger in a single spot.
Take my DS for example. I can play it a little at home, take it to work and play some more, maybe play during lunch or dinner if I'm there, play some more at home, and even go back to work and keep it in sleep mode for a lot of that.
If I have something with a much smaller battery life, I can't do that. I always have to make sure to bring my PSP home at the end of the day because I will always need to charge it. I often leave my DS at work just because I don't always want to carry it around. When I do finally bring it home I will charge it if I happen to bring it to my room.
That shorter battery life is just more of a hassle. I don't like carrying around the adapter and I like not having to charge my machine at every available opportunity. I don't care if you find it easy to charge all the time, I don't. That's why the PSP3000 turned me back off to the idea of the PSP.
So Finalfan, not well said at all.

Fair enough on the games, but let's be clear: I have never "carried the charger with me" except insofar as I took it on vacation and left it in the hotel room or in the car. Even the DS can't last an entire 2 week vacation without needing to charge.
Do you honestly play your DS more than 5 hours a day on workdays? If yes, what is the best way to get a job like yours? As for being too lazy to take it home, I guess that might be a dealbreaker for you but to me it sounds pretty weak, so whatever. At worst, I think, you would have to leave the PSP in sleep mode on the second day instead of playing it again like you could the DS.
I appreciate the fact that the PSP does not have the kind of battery life the DS does but, seriously, I think it's not so much that the PSP's is bad as it is that you've been spoiled by the DS.

Lets pretend I'm playing something like Professor Layton and the Curious Village and I have a map that takes me about 2-3 minutes to load and unload. Both are fine assumptions since I Professor Layton is an awesome game and I'm dealing with production levels that can take time to load and unload everything in the editor.
I generally do one of these three things during those 2-3 minutes:
- Just sit there and stare blankly at the screen for 2-3 minutes
- Read news/forums
- Play my DS for 2-3 minutes
Assuming it's a day where I feel like doing number three and there' no convienent way to charge my DS while sitting at my desk (my power strip is pretty full), my DS will stay on and/or in sleep mode for at least 8 hours. So yes, again, battery life is important to me.
Why do people have such a hard time believing that battery life is an important factor for me? I don't give a flying fuck if you're happy with the battery life because that doesn't make it work any better for me. I've said this who knows how many times now but for some odd reason people just want to think what works for them works for everyone else. I've read the advice and I'm taking that into consideration (which I've also said) and that should be plenty for people.
