Except the PSP's been out for much longer...I wish some good games would freakin come out for that thing by now....

If you look for the games you will find them. If you keep complaining that there are no good games you won't...

This perception of no good PSP games is really becoming group think.

Yeah, I really don't get the common perception that there are no good games for the PSP. I think that some people feel that most of these are avaliable on the PS2, but better, which is why I think that porting the GTA stories or more recently syphon filter is a bad idea. However, I must say that Daxter is the finest platformer avaliable, until Uncharted comes out.

Back to the top: I'm not suprised that you sold your Wii, most games are simply short mini games, or cheap ports of better 360/PS3 games

Actually I get pretty bored of my PSP. I was considering selling it until the Dissidia and Crisis Core anouncements. The PSP has great games... just for a very limited audience. The PSP games that are great are mostly racing games and sports games. I bought Puzzle Quest for my PSP but I could have bought that on the DS too. I dunno, I don't own much on my PSP. Ratchet, Puzzle Quest, GTA:LCS, Megaman Powered Up, MGS:PO, and Power Stone. I don't even pirate games (I like to support the game industry rather than help destroy it). On my DS I own: NSMB, MKDS, Jump Ultimate Stars (awesome import game), Pokemon Pearl, Sonic Rush (only good sonic game in years), Castlevania DS, Castlevania PoR, SM64DS, PW, PW2, Hotel Dusk, Kirby Canvas Curse, Tetris DS, Animal Crossing, I'm gonna stop here cause I have mor ethan 30 DS games and I'm sure you don't want to read them all.

Anyway, I don't blame you at all. It's tough to find stuff to play on my Wii. I recently got RE4 and I have my DS to tide me over till Metroid Prime 3. After Metroid Prime there are plenty of games: Fire Emblem, SMG, SSBB, NMH, and so much more.

So you sold a Wii for much less then you could get for it. Just to amuse us: how much did you asked for the games?

I don't have a problem with you selling your Wii, that's fine you don't like it, but the fact you think you're going to buy another one down the road is just silly.  When you buy your second one, you will have spent $430 on the hardware alone and that' assuming you kept controllers.  I suppose it's cool that someone who really wants a Wii will get one for cheaper, but I just never understand the I don't like it now so I'll sell it and buy it again in a few months mentality.  I suppose it could be just because I like money and don't like wasting it.

By the time I buy another one, Nintendo will have dropped the price to $200 or less. That means I'll have essentially played a Wii for seven months for free.

The Wii has now been relagated to PS3 status in my eyes; when it has more than 5 games I want to play, I'll buy one again.

But taking the $200 or so hit for a Wii in 2008 is still much less painful than a $400 or so PS3.

Guys, also remember that it's likely that MS will respond to Sony's price cut, and Nintendo will follow suit.  So he'll probably only spend $200 to get a new Wii.

Exactly. I expect the Wii to drop to $200 or so in early 2008 in response to MS's $200 360 Core.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a Wii price cut anytime soon. It looks like it's going to continue to sell very well (and more than likely sell out) through the holidays so there will be no reason for a price cut.

Also, even if the Wii were $200, you would have spent $450 on two consoles while receiving only $180. I guess you could think of that as kind of a loan since you're still losing money, but I'm guessing you sold your remotes as well and those aren't dropping in price for a very long time. If you had any games for the system, you probably got at most $20 for them and unless you had things like Red Steel (which you won't get $20 for) you're not making anything back if you want those games again.

Okay, simple math here:

I spent $410 on the Wii, controllers, and games. I sold it for $340.

If they drop the price to $200, that is $50 less than I paid for the sytem.

So, if I buy a system next year at $200, I would be at a net loss of $20 and will have dumped two games I beat and will never play again.

For the life of me, I can't see how I'm losing out except for the fact that I won't be playing Wii for the next six months or so. But like I said, that's not a problem because there are more than 5 360 games I'm dying to play over the holidays.

The thing is though you're counting on a $50 price drop and I just don't see that happening anytime soon. Plus, if you're counting controllers, you're going to lose much more than $20.

How much do you get for a Wii Remote? $10 at most (that's being very generous)? How much do they cost? $40. For every remote beyond the first, you're losing $20 and that's not even considering nunchucks.

Plus, have you gotten any VC games? Are you one of the people that actually likes using the internet on the Wii?

You can spin it however you want, it's just plain stupid to sell a console only to buy it again a few months later.

I lost $70 on the system. If I buy a new one for $200, that's a loss of $20. Controllers don't factor in because I included their price in my original statemet.

They should probably drop the price this holiday season to $200.  There are a lot of quality games coming out for all 3 systems this holiday season, but the PS3 and 360 seem to have the advantage here.

I know there are the mario games, but those are on every system Nintendo makes.  Third parties are favoring the 360 and PS3 for their high profile games.

I think lowering the price to $200 would do a lot to stave off the momentum that the other 2 consoles will gain very soon, imo.  I hope they leave it there, though, and continue making their millions on console sales alone, because I'd like the other 2 consoles to catch up (momentum-wise).

I love how everyone thinks price cuts can just fall out of the sky this generation, lol. Sorry I think Nintendo will keep their price where it is, sell just as well and rack in all that extra profit.
