I severely doubt PS3 failures are as low as 0.02%. That's a crazily low number.

Last time I can recall, the last time I sent a console in was when my GCN failed. In which case I went on my PC more often and did more things outside. I also went to Super Smash Bros. Melee tournements hoping someone would lend me their controller so I could do some friendlies ^-^

It was tough when my 360 died as I was just getting into a couple of games (it was new) and was my only "newé console at the time (played Guitar Hero on PS2 then...).

From looking at Rock_on's post, I must be one of the few whose PS3 dies as well (in fact it just didn'read any discs anymore...). The time without it was easier on me as I had a Wii and a 360, and wasn't into anything special on the PS3 (was in Feb 08, not much good games at the time).

My Wii is still standing strong (last man standing...). Let's hope I didn't just jinx it!

All consoles die unfortunately. In our house the wii has died like 3 times and the 360 (from 06 I might ad) has never died. Talk about having it backwards lol

Granted my insanely bad luck is pretty unique, but was enough to make me hate the 360 and never get one again. Any time anyone asks me about the 360 I bring up failure rate.  I am definitely not an xbox fanboy, but I think under the circumstances I've earned the right to hate and make fun of the fail box.

Thanks for the PS3 failure info. I'll look a little more into it. Still debating if I'll get one or not, though. I loved Uncharted and the GT series.
