Thats a fair assesment

Well, after having a PS3 for almost 2 weeks, my main complaints against PSN are:
1) Hardly any communication in online games, and when they do, there's weird ass noises going on.
2) Not enough content.
3) Download speeds are hella slow. It takes forever to download a "patch" or "update." Not to mention installing it.
4) Installing after downloading a demo?!
5) Multiple game ID's to play a game. Metal Gear Online required a long registration that spanned 3 ID's to be created. Like WTH?! Would it be so hard to just use your PSN?

EDIT: I sounded kind of negative so I've decided to add pros so I don't get crucified.

Now the plus sides,

1) Free is always better

2) Less racist jackasses using profanity.

3) Virtually lag-free (kind of the same as Live)

4) Oh, and they charge with actual currency ($9.99)

We have none of those issues on live!  Sometimes people talking too much.  Yeah I noticed no one talking while playing resistance it threw me I asked my buddy if my headset was working he said yeah they dont talk on PSN, I came from live quite a shock

The big thing for live is seemless integration with Live one ID that automtically sighns you on when you turn on and you are all set

I consider the PSN in a similar light to Xbox Live once it becomes as tightly integrated and seamless as Xbox Live.

It is nowhere near it in that regards, it feels bolted on still at the moment.

Well I live in Europe, so Walmart is no use to me.

Do you know anyone who owns the mic? Is the sound quality good?
