Not the typical ‘we don’t comment on rumors or speculation’ line, which leads me to believe that something is going on here. I know that Nintendo of Europe is going to put out a massive release list soon…and I be we see what’s up with Disaster once that list hits.

As what it comes to commenting the news, something is definately going on, since they are going to release the game, but again, the best indicator is the australian rating. And Nintendos comment was meaning that the rumoured date didn't come from them.

No. Just because AU is also PAL does not mean a game has to release at the same time there as here. Games in AU is often released a few weeks to 4 months after Europe. Or something like that.
And for the rest, I don't know. Nintendo is a big company with many heads, arms and minds. If I don't remember it wrong, Nintendo of America is the second most trustworthy and Japan the most, so before we see a official release list or spoken words from N America and/or Japan, not to mention new screens/trailers, there is nothing and we won't see the game until 2009.

Well, not really. What NOA says, doesn't really mean a shit in Europe (or Australia for that matter). This is the common view people have because of the normal cycle of game release dates and how much more the Nintendo HQ and NOA staff is in the media (because of the cycle of game release dates and how much bigger "phenomenon" videogames are in Japan and NA). Besides, i doubt Nintendo is that stupid, since it would indicate serious problems in management. If you want to compete globally, you need to act globally, not in certain pecking order of different units.
