I doubt Sony will let GTA slip form them,they will do anything to have it.
MGS i dont think Konami would release it for the next xbox let alone make it exclusive.
As for FF i think it will be exclusive for the next Nintendo system.

Even if all those are 720 exclusive, Sony has 5x-10x the quality 1st and 2nd party games to bring against it than the Xbox had vs PS2.  So the 720 will be no PS2 for that reason, in addition to: XBox is no Playstation, in Japan or Europe.

I think Sony owns an eight percent stake in Square. They most certainly do not have a majority share. They would have a hard time swaying the other share holders if an exclusivity deal for the next Xbox would very much be in Squares financial interest.

The same holds true with Konami it all comes down to the numbers. That is the thing about incentives if Microsoft offers you a hundred million dollars for six exclusives you probably take the money, and be thankful.

I would honestly need to see Rockstars contracts with Sony, but contracts are not necessarily eternal. Sooner or later they usually expire. Hard to imagine Rockstar agreeing to a ridiculous amount of time. That would deprive them of needed flexibility.

 I think they would pay, but I don't think Rockstar would do it.  Unless the got like 100  mil for doing it.  Multiplatforming for Rockstar is very profitable, and I don't think they will drop it.

Square has worked very well and closely with Sony over the recent years.  Remember Sony hosted Final Fantasy XI in all its wretched &^%(&%*%(^(ness.  ahem.  It's worse than evil!!!!  Ok stay on topic here.... I doubt very much that Square-Enix will abandon Sony all together, especially with the main line.  The only thing I could see is a Chocobo's Dungeon III:Special Edition type thing and really would be heavily influenced if There was no PS4 present on the market.

As for MGS ....  They need to stop sleeping with each other first.   LOL /jk

but seriously,  I think much of the game series' technical designed is based on Playstation infrastructure.  Sure they had  the posibilty explored with Snake Eater where they multiplatformed but I don't think they felt it worth while and MGS4 evidences that argument.

Never should say never, but I highly, highly doubt it. Why?-well I don't think there will be too many 3rd party exclusives in the future for anybody except for the odd 1 here and there.

i guess its possible....i dont think its particularly likely unless microsoft bought the companies which itself isnt very likely either.

SONY is very wise in pumping monies into 1st and 2nd party developers. Think about it, this way they own the franchises, can do what they want with them, make more profits, push the HW and innovation too. Nintendo started this and really at around the time of the sale of RARE. They used M$ monies to open lots & lots of smaller studio's and now they are pumping the exclusive SW out. They are No:1 now and are making record profits mostly for this reason.

Bravo SONY for thinking ahead and following the wise and old Nintendo!

Nothing is out of the question of course... but the scenario you paint is pretty unlikely. While short term it might get the SW developers a tonne of money in the end it would likely harm them.

MS ability to 'buy' market decreases the further you go from US in most cases - due to lack of market penetration plus the fact many non US cultures see this sort of approach as essentially unfair competition and it would only gain MS negative brand perception.

They might push ahead anyhow - but likely they'd just hand Nintendo the next generation as well as this one if they did.
