Right, I understood what you were saying. Things change. And again: that's true for any company at any time. Heck, the Bank of London, the second largest bank in the world, went bankrupt in the late 90s. Right now, Nintendo is a larger company than the entirety of Sony. Obviously Nintendo would spend on their consumers. Where do you expect this money to go Ck? I mean that honestly. They're raking in billions of dollars, while Sony and Microsoft lose billions. How would that money not ultimately be used on the consumer? What other purpose could it possibly serve? |
Nintendo aren't a bigger compnay than Sony they are simply a more succesfuly company. Nintendo currently have a high profit margin which is very secure due to their current dominance in the console market. This in turn causes in increase in their market cap. The same effect can be seen with MS since their monopoly of the OS market measn they are certain to make huge profits each year giving them the 5th highest market cap in the world. MS are actually a smaller company than Sony since the size of a company is measured in their total revenues and not profits or market cap.
To address the point of wher the profits go. Some will go into investments since since solid>liquid. Most will go to dividends since shareholders are greedy bastards.
On topic. I feel that the online play of the Wii is secondary to the offline party play. Nintendo can afford to slwly introduce online play, original DLC and such since the offline party play os much more improtant than these things.
