Why would all this money Nintendo is making go into making big games when their biggest money makers are cheap to make minigame collections and other casual games?

I don't understand where this belief is coming from. If Nintendo sees that their new casual strategy is much more successful than their old, we will be lucky to see even a few bigger more traditional games from Nintendo anymore.

Who said that they were going to put the money back into Zelda or Metroid etc. specifically? This is what you said, and what I replied to: "Anyway, it is a great thing for Nintendo to do things on the cheap, but not really a good thing for the consumer."

The development of more casual and minigame collections (which are obviously only a portion of their development palate, but I'll humor you for now) is good for the consumer. If they weren't good for the consumer, people wouldn't be buying them, and Nintendo would stop making them.

What you apparently mean is: "Nintendo's development isn't good for me," which is entirely different and not relevant to a larger discussion of what many or most people want.

But of course, Nintendo will make more core titles beyond Metroid/Smash/Galaxy, so the point is moot anyway.
