i think it would be nice if vgchartz had a feature were if somebody quptes ur reply on a post it would send you a message that way you dont have to go back to the forum a million times and scroll down

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Consoles owned: Game Cube, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3.

My prediction: NATAL WILL NOT help 360 sales. Maybe a 50-100k boost week 1, then a 30-70 k boost week 2, and back to the norm again after 3-5 weeks.

God no, its bothersome enough to get a message everytime someone posts on your wall and I also think it would steal bandwidth!
Everytime I check the message box I'm hoping some dear friend has written some deep and insightful post on the matters of the world only to find "user xxxxxxx posted a message on your wall".
I then tear at my hair in sheer fury and spit on the screen.
I am now bald and cannot see what I'm writing, the spelling is sheer luck.

While I agree....I also hate that my wall posts require me to check a mail that I have already seen so many times "a message has been posted on your wall."  I'd rather that the wall posts show up as their own red title that you can click to take you to your directly to your profile.

Better yet..now that I'm thinking about it....It would be cool if you "My Profile" link just glowed red when you had a wall post.  I think it would be pretty easy to implement.

As far as what you are referring to...it sounds a bit more complicated.

Well, the old NSider forums had a separate page for your ''subscribed'' threads. That would be a good way to check if someone replied to a tread you've posted in.

I used this feature a lot, or just create a feature that let you ''stick'' the threads you've posted in that interest you (and add the number of new posts on the thread on a separate column or something).

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

It's something that always bothered me as well. I hate having to scroll through any recent threads I've posted in to see if there were, by chance, any replies.

Even worse, if somebody posts in a thread that's NOT very 'recent', I am likely to NEVER know about it unless I happen to be online (and it's in the hot topic' section at that exact moment) and recognize the topic...

There are ways to do this (I think) - PM'ing a message though, is a bit over-the-top. Changing your posting history to more of a 'mailbox' type view, may work though... ...not an easy fix either way though - will certainly be considered and added to the list of things needing improvement.

Did you catch my suggestion for the wall posts?  Just making the "My Profile" link red if anyone has posted on your wall.  It seems like it would require less bandwidth and be a little bit easier for the users.

Not sure I'd want to change the 'my profile' link to red - I don't think that would look too good and we're starting to mess with the overall 'style' at that point. I could, however, add a separate notification (where you see messages/friend requests/code requests/etc) for 'wall posts' - clicking it would send you to your profile and clear the flag.

hold on a second, you're willing to add a notification for him because he doesn't like pm's, but you won't add one for me. If you add one for him, I'm going on strike until I get one too

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Yeah, that would be a much better system. And would remove the need of two-whole clicks, two clicks which I really can't be bothered to do.

Perhaps another idea, for the new posts system, would be just to have a little symbol next to a thread title which would suggest that something new has been posted. Or just bold the text in the title, and have an icon which jumps to the oldest new post (if you get what I mean).

It's a good idea but also bad.
It's better if it's selective where you can flag certain threads that you wanted "watched" and the ability to "unwatch" so it doesn't haunt you for the rest of your live.

Its exactly what I want.

I agree. Even though your message box would clam up pretty quickly, it would help u know when somebody replies to you

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
