Your full of shit! I am from Australia and the PS3 is kicking it's ass there. It's even beating the Wii! It seems to be beating the 360 in all countries more months then not since Oct 07, even the U.S and that's what the OP ment.

Also, yes, if the PS3 has no new big exclusives comming, then your kinder right by saying it will take till 2010 to over take the 360 at this rate of sales. But, all it needs is more big hits like MGS4 to see massive spikes. After all, people buy consoles for certain games, a~la LBP, R2, White Knight Chronicals, Heavy Rain, Kz2, GT5, GoW3 etc, etc.

What most don't seem to see is that the PS3 has, until recently, been lacking the big exclusives. The PS3 has nearly reached 2 years. All PS platforms have had a huge influx of games from this age on. So many big games are comming to the PS3 and all within 1 year. The 360 is yet to see a strong PS3 like this.

In reply to your post.
1. Im not full of Shit, As you, I am a speculator

2. I got my data from this site, maybe you should use the features on this site.  http://www.vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=Australia&cons2=PS3&reg2=Australia&cons3=X360&reg3=Australia&start=39313&end=39677

you will see that the most recent weeks xbox360 won. Also you will see that Wii is kicing the PS3's ass.

3. I am also from Australia, and if i was to use the small sample size ( obviously too small to really count) Wii is kicking ass, And alot more gamers have an XBox than than a PS3.

4. Xbox360 still has a large gap on the ps3 http://www.vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=Australia&cons2=PS3&reg2=Australia&cons3=X360&reg3=Australia&start=38725&end=39677&weekly=1

5. next time put the insult last, that way i would read more of your comment

And yes, imagin when the PS3 does have a price cut... or, imagin if they were the same price [not gonna happen for a long time tho].

Yes, but the PS3 really is settling for small victories. They came into this gen with by-far, the strongest brand name and the most 3rd party support. Now they are struggling to beat the 360, and actually have arguably worse 3rd party support than Microsoft's console. Also, the PS3 is not gonna suddenly take off with the 3rd parties. Most 3rd party games this gen will come to both consoles, and PS360 exclusives outside of 2nd and 1st party games will be few and far between.

Also, software and attach rates are still years off of catching the Xbox 360, if ever, and you can forget about the Wii.

What about next gen? Sony'll be coming off the PS3 instead of the PS2. A significantly less popular console. While Microsoft and Nintendo will be coming off their most popular consoles ever, and the Xbox won't have the RRoD issue to stunt its longterm growth.

If Microsoft keeps agressively spending money, it's not out of the question that they could eventually score some very important 3rd party games as exclusives. Something Sony admittedly refuses to do.

Two years ago, nobody thought Sony would be in the relatively terrible position they are in now. Certainly it's getting better, but they had a long fall, and while celebrating the long climb back up, every step of the way, is admirable, let's make sure you don't lose site of exactly what you're celebrating, which is afterall, not coming in dead last in at least one measure of console success. Hardware sales. Hip-hip hurray.

Now make that into a fanboy video, because it's more fair to the competition than this crap is.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Ps3 has outsold the X360 by 3:1 in Japan.
Ps3 has overtaken the X360 in console sales in Europe. X360 was launched 16 months before Ps3 in Europe.
Ps3 is outselling the X360 in most countries of the world.
Ps3 consistently outselling X360 since October 2007.
Ps3 has even outsold the Wii in Japan for a few weeks.
The way the Ps3 is selling it will have overtaken the X360 in worldwide console sales by late 2008.

I am not a fan boy this is the truth.

You had me until you said that. The PS3 will outsell the 360 worldwide in 2008? Bull.

No, you don't understand ZenfoldorVGI.  In the other sales thread, KZ2 explained how this is possible:

KZ2 said:

Ps3 in December 2008 sells worldwide 6 million consoles to X360 1 million consoles for December 2008 = 5 million gain to the Ps3 puts Ps3 in front of the X360.

It's simple once it's explained. Oh, and don't forget KZ2 isn't a fanboy.

Software attach rates are still years off of catching the Xbox 360? Check the latest NPD SW sales of SCIV and NCAA, clearly PS3 have much better attach rates lately.
