Forums - Sales - Europe to pass Americas as biggest video market by FY '09

Seems very reasonable. If so, great for SONY, bad for MS, and with Wii and DS sales they way they are, Nintendo probably wouldn't give a damn.

Well, population has very little to do with it. I mean, if we take the UK, we usually account for 1/3rd of European sales, and yet our population is only around 1/5th of Europe (according to Oyvoyvoyv's 275m number).

I believe it has something to do with the maturity of the gamers. I mean, I remember reading that the average age of a gamer in the UK is 33. By 33 people are usually quite a way up in their career-paths, and often have a family. Put these all together and you'll find that we are going end up spending a lot more money per-person than other countries, whose mind-frames are still in the "games-are-for-teens" mindframe.

Fun-fact: The UK was the second highest spender in Videogames in the world last year (after US) even outpacing Japan whose population is double that of the UK.

GO GO EUROPE !!!

The US doesn't have that mindframe either, especially since the Wii came out.  The average age of gamers here is 35.

Who gives a fuck where the consoles come from? And seriously, I take it you haven't been paying attention to the ol' week-on-week sales figures. The 360 is only marginally above the PS3 in Europe despite being out for a year-and-a-half longer.

Damn, my point has been mooted. I wasn't especially picking out the US, I was just trying to say why population doesn't make all the difference.

WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU CALLING ME DUMB???!!! DID I INSULT YOU????!!!

Am just saying how it would affect the companies in general. SONY is selling more ps3's than MS is selling 360's  Month by Month in "Others" right now, and most of those sales in General are from Europe. Look how close that lead 360 has is??? Didn't the 360 have a year head start???!!!! And where the fuck did I say SONY, MS or Nintendo  were European Companies???!!!

MS's best sales are coming from the US, this is a fact. So if Europe becomes the bigger market, that's bad news for MS because it's good news for SONY.

So I ask again. WHY THE FUCK DID YOU CALL ME DUMB??? DID I INSULT YOU FIRST????!!!
Because I don't like taking that type of shit from people for no good reason!!

I didn't want to point it out, but I found him calling you "dumb" and then writing that load of bollucks hilarious. I mean, it was barely comprehendable.
