Liquid ant bait seems to work pretty well. Put the bait traps in their normal path and they will eat it. Then they take it back to their colony where it will poison them from the inside out. It takes several days....but is highly effective.

Unless your vacuum has a hepafilter, I would not suggest putting ant poison in. You risk having some being exhausted into the air you breath.

I'd say the large quantities of dry dust in the sack will finish them off, or provide them with incentive to stay in the bag, rather than try to escape.
