Well if some people werent so confident saying things as "Wii is outsold everywhere " or "shipped equal sold for Wii everywhere " then I wouldnt feel the need to adress this isnt true .At least in Spain and Portugal there are a lot of unsold wiis in the stores .Plus the tracking for the PS3 in my country I dont thing is very accurate ,it ouselling the X360 by a great margin is allright but I doubt that ioi knows about the great numbers of financial entities that are offering the PS3 by moving your account there ....for example Banesto the day of the launch had a thousand people in front of their offices and people keep asking in the forums about it and create accounts with Banesto with the minimum money asked just to receive the PS3 at 350 euros .Plus ,some stores have started to reduce the price of the console to 550 euros ,and there are packs offered with Motorstorm and Resistence since 3 weeks ago for 619 euros .....all that is relevant information I think .Well too much information in any case .

Well, of course it sold well at launch. VGChartz data reflects that, with 65,000 sold in the first week. But you should remember that launch was four months ago, and sales have consistently been under 3,000 a week since then, which matches up with nearly every other territory we have data on - great launch, no legs. And if retailers have resorted to promotins and price-cuts, that's not actually a good sign.
yer it ain't a good sign tha tthey are offering extra promotional stuff to push the PS3s.
Next we will see news from netherlands that you get a free PS3 with every 10ounce of pot purchase. Or the other way around. Which ever is cheaper lol.

You know, I don't think that any of the mods claim vgchartz to be 100 percent. In fact, just about once per month I seem to recall seeing a news item about how vgchartz numbers are different from NPD's and analyzing why. I also seem to recall them being very up front about when they modify their estimates, and are very clear that their numbers are 'estimates.'
Also, I know you're being facetious, but I, too, trust vgchartz a heck of a lot more than nexgenwars. Although I do not know where the huge discrepency between vg and ngw is w/ regards to the 360 numbers, vgchartz seems to be fairly close to other sources of info, and none of the companies seems to have any major complaints with the data of NPD et al.
Please, PLEASE do NOT feed the trolls.

Anything that involves any system dominating countries whose economies are the size of a single American metro area is going to be met with mockery. I mean it's great Sony can dominate somewhere, but New Zealand + Portugal

yeah. i'm pretty sure my metro area (austin tx) sold more Wiis and less PS3s than all of portugal.

They can market Blu-Ray as the movie you don't need to put your glasses on for, provided it's viewed on a 72" screen. =P

The way I see it is... it is the small things that can make a difference. If Sony didn't have those markets then they would have lower numbers. I really believe that countries that are outside of the bigger markets come into play later on. Which means when a company does start to get momentum, (and Sony will gain), the smaller markets are already dominated. Therefore, they have a wider market gain globally, as well as a substantial gain in the main markets.
I'm sure if MS, focused on the other conuntries as well and offered the same service, then that would make up for their lost in Japan. But their focus is Japan, which evitably at this stage is not going to get a vast improvement overall for MS.
So do smaller markets matter? Yes, they do! All markets matter. This is a global market. So to rule out all markets is really being short sighted. At the end of the day, numbers are numbers, sales are sales no matter where they come from!
