Forums - PC - PC gaming is a real pain

People that have PC gaming complaints don't have good enough systems to play the best games out there IMO.

my pc can play crysis maxed out without a stutter so that is not the problem,

the OP is just saying that the random errors you can get when installing a game is annoying no matter how good you rpc you can still get theses error.

remember the dev has to create a game that will work on all systems as possible. so obviously some pc's are going to get an error from various software interupting the game and other various annoyances

All of the good games aren't on PC. In fact, the PC has very few big-budget exclusives anymore. You can easily catch 90% of the good stuff that comes to PCs by owning a 360.

That's wrong. Xbox 360 "has no" good Simulation, Adventure and Strategy games, and has a much weaker selection of RPGs, Casual, Puzzle/Parlor and Racing games. Heck, even 360's best genre (Shooter) is better on PC.

How many big-budget PC-exclusive sim, adventure, and strategy games have been released lately that were actually good? A few, maybe, but those are all niche genres anyway (outside of any game with Will Wright or Sid Meier's name slapped on it, anyway.)

In addition, the only good PC-exclusive RPG I can think of this past year was The Witcher, and what racing games are on PC that are so much better than those on the 360? (I'm honestly asking, because I'm not familiar with the genre.)

As per casual and parlor games, those aren't exactly "big-budget."

Finally, the only successful PC-exclusive shooter in recent memory is Crysis, and that was more of a graphical tech demo than anything else.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

PC gaming is alot more of a hassle compared to consoles (unless your gifted technically and understand all this driver stuff etc). Still worth it though imo, especially with games like Diablo 3, Starcraft II, Spore & Dawn of War II on the way.

I agree with you.

Me too.

Yes PC gaming is a pain. I can't stand it when game companies install a bunch of useless apps and uninstalling it is just as much a pain.

I love my Wii and handhelds. Just turn on a play.

Handhelds and consoles are a thousand times hassle free

Because on consoles you don't have to install your game, you don't need to patch them, you don't need to upgrade the firmware of your console, you don't need expensive cables, you don't need to pay for your online, there are not many different SKUs with compatibility issues and you don't have to pay for DLC... right?

it's more of an issue of suddenly not being able to run a game because windows does stupid things lol.

I don't mind it too much though. However i do play the most on my ps3

Check out my game about moles ^
