Forums - PC - PC gaming is a real pain

Upgrading, installing, installation errors, non-compatible drivers, glitches, patches, reinstalling, key codes etc.

I wish all of the good games weren't on PC.

Handhelds and consoles are a thousand times hassle free. I wish I didn't love simulation games and prefer mouse & keyboard by far, but I do :(

Anyone else find PC gaming a pain? I hate that it has all the good games.

Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Bet With routsounmanman: By the end of Q1 2008 Capcom WONT have announced a RE5 Wii Edition OR a new RE (classic gameplay) for the Wii (WON)

Buy a laptop if you have a problem with mobility. Gaming Laptops aren't nearly as expensive as they used to be and that'll solve at least ONE of your problems.

Edited.

I think not. PC gaming does not require many upgrades. One upgrade every four years should be fine. Key boards and mouse are much more accurate and are easier to use than controllers.

I have a Quad Core + 8800 GT, and what do I play most on my PC? Sins of a Solar Empire and Star Craft... Why'd I spend so much on my PC again?

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

I don't play any PC games.. so those don't bother me... =/

^^^^ what he said, if i can help it i will always pirate a game for the pc first but hey i dont care they shouldnt be stupid enough to release it on hacked hardware.

oh em if i like a game enough though i will pay for it anyway i think the pc has a lack of new games throughout the year and only gets a few good games round xmas and thats about it. i really dont like pc gaming and if i can help it i wil always use a controller apart from with shooting games.

Because on consoles you don't have to install your game, you don't need to patch them, you don't need to upgrade the firmware of your console, you don't need expensive cables, you don't need to pay for your online, there are not many different SKUs with compatibility issues and you don't have to pay for DLC... right?

Upgrading, installing, installation errors, non-compatible drivers, glitches, patches, reinstalling, key codes etc.

Upgrading isn't difficult once you get the hang of it. It's not too expensive, either, if you don't constantly try to have the best hardware on the market.

Installing is very easy. Next, next, next, next, finish. Something like that.

Installation errors are something I've rarely seen. Usually it's a mark of a bad game. It could be the user, too. Anyway, usually it's not the game's fault.

Drivers are rarely an issue. The don't need to be updated very often and even then it's pretty simple if you know what you're looking the drivers for.

Glitches and patches exist on consoles as well.

Reinstalling? What's this?

Key codes aren't a big deal. You only have to enter them when installing the game.

PC is good. Consoles are good. PC is better, though.

Oh, and PC games are cheaper.
