Oh well, bygones. I'll let it rest and leave it at this; I hope this game will be fab, I want an excuse to buy a PS3 next year.
PC gaming is where its at imo but it gets expensive as shit when you try to keep up.

PS: Sorry for being a tad cranky Gnizmo, bad day, very bad day.

No worries Mummel. It happens to everyone. I suspect LBP will be a very good reason for people to buy a PS3. You might want to update your sig again.

This game will be the best thing since sliced Wii's.

Does a sliced Wii equal 2 Gamecubes?

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Personally, I think that there is a "victim card" being played constantly by many PS3 owners ...

Since the PS3 launched there have been more games that were "100% Guaranteed AAA 5+ Million sellers" than any other system (according to PS3 fans) and yet the PS3 doesn't have a single 5+ Million selling game, and many of these games failed to be decent quality games. Now, whenever one of these games was brought up anyone who didn't agree with they hype was "bashing" these games.

The most annoying thing is that after all this hype when the games do not meet these unrealistic expectations the PS3 fans are never willing to accept the comeuppance, and will claim that a game (like Lair or Haze) was never hyped at all.

Every system has their fair share of duds.  Remember King Kong, Perfect Dark Zero, or Too Human?  Eventually you get a game like Mass Effect, Dead Rising, and Bioshock.

Well the PS3 has its fair share as well.  Than it finally got Ratchet and Clank, Warhawk, Uncharted Drakes Fortune, all those innovative PSN titles, and most importantly MGS4.  You have an anti-PS3 history, so I understand why you wrote what you did.

Every system does have their duds, but the XBox 360 fans are far more willing to accept reason and won't say that you're "Bashing" Too-Human when you point out it was in development for 10 years; and Wii owners are far more likely to have expectations of moderate sales with long legs for many of their new IPs. From what I have seen, it is only the PS3 fans who have expectations of games like Lair, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted to outsell games like Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros.

The fact is that right now many realistic expectations for Little Big Planet (like 80% to 90% reviews and sales of 1 to 2 million) are instantly called "bashing" by PS3 fans.

Are you serious?  When SpartanFX made a thread paraphrasing a preview which speculated that Too Human might be the next Haze, some 360 fans flipped out, and there were multiple pages arguing over his supposed "cherry picking" of the original article.

And outside of MGS4 and LBP, what games have been hyped to be "100% Guaranteed AAA 5+ Million sellers" for the ps3?  I've seen some hyped to be AAA (Uncharted, R&C, Heavenly Sword), but none hyped to sell anything close to that.

You're stereotyping ps3 fans based on the actions of a few fanboys, and ignoring the fanboys for the other consoles.

Also: "Lair, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted to outsell games like Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros."

I have never seen a single fanboy speculate that, not even Crazzyman.

You must have joined after Lair, Warhawk, and Heavenly Sword were all released. They were the games that would start PS3 domination and sell more than any other game released up to that point. They were the 5 million+ AAA titles that were goinjg to doom the other systems to nothingness. Given since then it has calmed down a lot but mostly because the super fanboys claiming that have left the site. Those three titles were hyped to hell and back though. I still remember people mocking the PS3 fanboys because Heavenly Sword was "only" going to make a million.

I find it VERY hard to believe that anybody would've hyped those games to sell over 5 million. Especially an online only title like Warhawk.  Heavenly Sword outselling God of War by 2 million?  Um...

I joined in May of 2007 and started posting regularly around July, and I don't remember any of that.  Hyped to be AAA titles?  That I remember, though the Lair hype did start to deflate closer to release much like Haze and Too Human.  Hyped to sell over 5 million?  Hell no.

why Little Big Planet will succeed in both sales and quality
-the game appeals to the casual crowd with it's Maro/Crash-esque play style with great platforming skills put into it. Yet it also has Hardcore Appeal with its user made content which will in the end fuel both groups.
-Casual Players can play the main game, then try out what people have come up with in online content, Hardcore will play it and make the new levels, as it becomes more popular Casual Gamers become Hardcore and get in on it too.
- The game will be under heavy marketing, the likes of which very few games have recieved. Halo is a game that sold almost entirely on it's marketing ploy(and many will admit it was not even that great) yet it did very well, Final Fantasy VII was also a game under heavy Sony marketing, also a triumphant success. Marketing can sell a game if you only know how to hype it. Sony KNOWS how to hype a game.
-Every single preview, review, hands-on, whatever has been nothing but glowing for LBP. No one in the actual gaming world can find even the tiniest of flaws within the game without nitpicking. The game could actually be flawless, getting 10s when it actually comes out meaning the PS3 has recieved 3 10 grade level AAA titles in one year(MGS4,GTA4,LBP), that would be mindblowing.
-User generated hype, ala me, and the OP, as well as many others who are super hyped for this game. The hype is catching and spreading like wildfire.

I trully believe this game simply CANNOT fail, there is just too much going right for lt. It is the second coming of Zelda:Ocarina of Time or Final Fantasy VII, it will be remembered throughout history....

I think it's a case of people remembering the most ridiculous sales predictions and then blaketing them over the entire fanbase.  Remember that guy who said that LBP would get 8 million or someting stupid like that?  I bet you that's going to be what we were all saying next year.  Everyone who wants to belittle LBP will talk about how PS3 fans said it would get 8 mil.

...

It seems some people need to learn how to read. This is posted in the Gaming Discussion forum. If you wish to speak of LBP's possible sales, go to the Sales discussion forum. It is located next to the Website tab under Forums.

To stay on topic, LBP looks to be one of the better PS3 titles in 08. Let's hope this game gets to as many people as possible.
