PS3 need:
September + October = 9 weeks = 120k per week on avg. = 1.1 mln. (Possible)
November + December = 8 weeks = 300k per avg. = 2.4 mln. (Hard one)

Overall, it will be a close one. =)
But even 6 mln. is a good number.)

my prediction was always going to fall a few 100k's short, i just out it up to 6.9mil just in case the ps3 has a really good xmas

6.9m is a tad ambitious, 6m is possible, it all depends on what im calling the "LBP Effect"

So far, i don`t see, WHY PS3 should sell worse, then PS2 for the rest of year in Others, after outselling it for whole year.

At this rate, IF ps3 will sell SAME as PS2 did in 2001 during last 4 months, then PS3 sales in Others will be ~6,7 mln.

OCT 430,815/107.704 - that shouldn`t be a problem too.

NOV 682,840/170.710 - now this with LBP, R2, M:PR and other great games releases, such boost is possible,

DEC 1,833,321/366.664 - this depeds on Christmas sales, this year PS3 is MUCH stronger competitor, then a year before.

Now, if to think, that PS3 will outdo PS2 sales, (JUST like it was doing whole year), then PS3 might reach 3.5-4 mln. in next 4 months in Europe Alone, then 7 mln. in Others alone is VERY possible. Then, IF USA will manage also sell 3.5-4 mln. and Japan 0.5 mln. that will make atleast +7 mln. PS3 sales, with possible 8 mln. Total 15 mln. in 2008. Time will show. =)

You should compare with 2003 PS2.
2003 was the best year ever of the PS2 in Others.
It sold 7.7 million units that year.
PS3 is tracking 500k ahead of it so far.

I think in the end the PS3 will sell 7-7.5 million units in Others this year though...
