Forums - Gaming - What if there was a dreamcast 2? would it be a success or a faliure?

As in the most cases with Sega, it'll fail.

....What if it joined with Nintendo to make the Wii2 ......Then it wouldn't fail.

^_^

Do you consider SEGA as of right now a failure or a success? That'll be your answer for the Dreamcast2!!

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

First, Sega has to make people remember how awesome they can be, kind of like EA is doing but take it even farther. Regain reputation, THEN try.

After this, I think a second Dreamcast would at the very least do better than the original, of course the games must be as good as they were then. Past doing better then the first Dreamcast, it's tough to tell. But just to let Sega know, if they did you can count on one purchase right here.

i dont think there is any room for another console this gen. maybe next gen there will be 4 consoles on the market, but i think they would be made by microsoft, sony, nintendo, and maybe apple.

Well, I think it would be a success!

Why?

Sonic would leave Nintendo! Also I'm sure Sega should have studied the ups and downs for every system...Use those to their advantages.

Sega would win the console war automatically.

Who I'm I kidding?

It's a total failure...No success here.

If sega tried to make a 7th generation console to launch alongside the 360 they would have failed so badly. This generation is way more competitive than the last one, and if they went with a third HD console it would just split the HD pie even more.

Also, the Conduit is going to be huge.

Wii has more 20 million sellers than PS3 has 5 million sellers.

Acolyte of Disruption

I don't think it would succeed, for the simple reason i don't believe the console amrket can support more than 3 at the most. Still, stranger things have happened though. IMO Sega is better suited to software though.

Manchester United 2008-09 Season - Trophies & Records

Barclays Premier League 2008-09: 1st // UEFA Champions League 2008-09: Finals (Yet To Play) // FIFA Club World Cup: Winners // UEFA Super Cup: Runners-up // FA Cup: Semi-Finals // League (Carling) Cup: Winners // FA (Charity) Community Shield: Winners
Records: First British Team To Win FIFA Club World Cup, New Record for No. Of Consecutive Clean Sheets In Premier League, New English & British League Records for Minutes Without Conceding, New Record For Going Undeafeated In Champions League (25 games ongoing), First British Team To Beat FC Porto In Portugal, First Club To Defeat Arsenal At The Emirates In European Competition, First Team In English League Football History To Win 3 Titles Back To Back On Two Seperate Ocassions

I think the biggest problem is, that there is not enough space on the market, sega would struggle to offer something different then the competition. They would fail miserably on the HD level, and i don't think their games have enough quality to compete with Nintendo on the other level.

Also they would struggle to get 3rd party support.

They should do something useful and re make Shenmue for Wii.

that would be this gen right?

it depends on the price. If its $250 it would probably sell as well as the wii since people buy it based on price, not games :D
