No wonder there is no plan to cut the price of the PS3 in Japan, because it currently costs around $400 already.

60k yen = ~500$, noob.

In Japan they will be releasing a Hot Shot Golf 5 bundle for both the 20gb and 60gb models.

The prices are as follows:

20gb package - 51,980 Yen ($420 or £210)

60gb package - 61,980 Yen ($500 or £250)

Fantastic prices at the moment seeing as the 20gb model in the US has been discontinued and not even released in Europe, so a $100 reduction in the US will bring the cost down to a comparable $500 for the 60gb. So there is no reason why the UK price cannot be reduced to even £299, but will it???? I doubt it...I reckon it will come down to £349.

you've just given an explaination for not having any price drops here in Europe: we (unlucky european customers) are actually paying the price drop in north american market

2008 year end sales (made in January 2008):

44.2 M 27.1 M 20.8 M

I've not given an explanation for not having a price drop in Europe....I said that there is no reason why the UK price cannot be dropped.  If you can buy a 60gb model in Japan for the equivalent of £250 and will be able to do the same in the US for £250....then why should we still be paying £425 in the UK.

I'm sorry...but the public will not allow this to happen and will just stop buying them at all...unless there is a universal reduction of costs throughout the world.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

Well actually the European Union taxes for these kind of goods is enourmous .....they raise the price a lot .THis happens with all the consoles ,if it wasnt for that we could be paying the same as NA consumers ....

Was curious what kind of game doki doki majou shinpan was, so checked a few video's on youtube... well... let's say it's more of a boys thing :D

If anyone should get a price drop, it should DEFINITELY be Europe. They already have cheaper to produce PS3's (no EE chip).

By the way, thanks for the numbers, y-koron. Next week shall be interesting, indeed.

The 20GB which is still available in Japan has an MSRP of 49,980 yen.  Which is just over $400.

With those sales it doesn't look like there will be much change in the top 5.

y-koron. I don't quite understand what you mean when you say when you say Doki Doki has been remarked, do you mean that it has it's age restriction has been increased?

As for EU PS3 prices, in the UK we add about 27.6% tax (10% duty, 17.6% VAT) to eveything that is improted, so it is our governments that rip us off, not Sony.

Hey y-koron can you translate the portion of Shinobis page that talks about DQ:Swords? Someone at GAF translated it and posted this:

Sinobi First day number - 5 July 2007 #384
http://ameblo.jp/sinobi/entry-10038960217.html

[PS3] Boku no Natsuyasumi 3 (My Summer Holiday 3) - 15k
[NDS] Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol - 15k
[NDS] Dokidoki Majo Saiban - 15k; but it seems to be a great hit in Akihabara

And it talks about the pre-order of DQS. It looks like selling out...

Im very interested in that part. Very, lol. Thanks in advance if your able to.
