I'll wait till 2008 or 2009. By then the library will be sufficient enough and the price will be tolerable.

no , but i will be buying a 360 for GTA4 and Katamari .. currently just have a wii
If the price drop is for real, I'm buying one. Won't have the money until September, but $499 is the magic number.
I'd consider buying a PS3 for the blu-ray player when blu-ray discs start outselling plain old DVD's. By the time that happens, the thing will be like $250 and I'll have a fancy blu-ray player to sit next to my Wii with probably 20 games at that point. I just don't care about any PS3 games since I gave up on Square, so for me it's literally just a blu-ray player that can do a couple other things.

Edit: My bad, I misread.

Sorry the Wii will not be able to handle RE5, unless it gets a major tone down(then why would you want it???) The Wii is getting it's own exclusive RE: Umbrella something, be happy with it. I'll be getting a 2nd one now though. I just got a 61" Samsung and I need another bluray player. |
We don't even know what RE5's graphics are, all we've seen is a pre-rendered video made before the game's development began, a pre-rendered video that no way exceeds what we've seen in pre-rendered content for games like RE:UC for the Wii.
And people would be fine with a major tone down just as people were fine with the tone down of RE4 for the PS2. Gameplay > graphics. I know that's a tough concept for you to chew on but its been proven time and time again in system sales.

Ah my bad, what a sloppy mistake and my appologies to cor5151
Just to remind everyone...there have been NO plans WHATSOEVER to change RE5 to accommodate for the Wii. I honestly don't think with the direction that the series is going that they would not push the envelope with every thing the more powerful systems could do. Otherwise it would be a huge letdown to the fans. I mean, following up RE4 is a big responsibility, one Capcom and the devs might not be willing to sacrifice the quality of their game for.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Since the only announcement of what platforms it would be on included a willingness to put it on all three, I have a hard time imaging how it would need be changed especially since we have no idea what the graphics of the game are going to be. Perhaps you can provide me some screen shots of in-game graphics to show this something the Wii couldn't handle. Again, you make the assumption that this is being done as a PS3 or 360 game primaraly, we have no confirmed information since a vague statement over a year ago about the game's standing on a console so please stop acting like its set in stone that we know for sure what the game is comming out on. Thanks.
