GN: No no no. I think Wii is a great box. I’m really interested in stuff they’ve taken forward in terms of input. You know, we’re a 150 person company. There’s a limit to how much we can get done.

VG247: Are you interested in stepping outside the shooter genre? Any chance of a Valve MMO?

GN: We’re always interested, but let me put it this way: I would love to do a Wii game, and how many Wii games have we shipped? So, it’s just a question of having way, way too many ideas for our ability to execute. If people things are bad now, if we were trying to do a Wii MMO at the same time our schedules would be measurable in centuries.

Who is Gabe Newell?

He's the owner of Valve (Half-Life, Portal, etc.)

I like his answer. is better to wait until they can really make a great game than a half assed one.

I will wait for them to finally start development. I bet the game will be swesome

Gabe Newell is the director of Valve. They do great games, like Portal, Half-Life series and Left 4 Dead. Also, the Steam service.

And it sounds like he can't, so I'm not sure why this is exciting.

If Newell is going to make anything on the Wii, I hope he will hurry the *&$% up - he's been saying this for almost two years now, and it's starting to sound more and more like an empty promise made to appease Valve's investors.
