I usually like to enjoy my games a way that I dont need to be afraid that it will end too fast by running around and trying to pick up every quest. Games like FF and other RPGs you can play almost 30-40hours without thinking about side quests. There is a difference with trying to finish a game as fast as possible by doing some extra research like FFIX. It took me around 13-14hours before I finished Mass effect and I did not skip any side quests on purpose. Maybe I should have tried much harder trying to find other side quests to make my experience longer.

Yes, but the basic flaw that I find in the argument of not buying a game because it is too short, is shortness can have nothing to do with quality. If a game is great, you want it to be longer. If a game sucks, you would then want it to be shorter...correct?

Call of Duty 4 is one of the best games I've played this gen. So is Gears of War. Together, those games could barely milk you 10 hours of play.

If IU is great, then yeah, we'll want it to be longer. If it sucks, we might be ready for it to be over far sooner than it ends.

Now, for my money, I think that no game is required to be 20 hours long, to be great, or even the best game ever made.

If CoD4 can be 4 hours long, and be one of my favorite games, then I'm open to any game, as long as I have a great time playing it.

People yearn more for a large scope in their JRPGs, which is not necessarily indicative of length.

I couldn't agree more! People complain far too much about length and forget to take the time and enjoy the game for what it is. HS was such a fun time that I felt I wanted it to last longer because it was an incredible 6 hours.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

i.e. it's not the size of the boat, its the motion of the ocean that counts? ;)

Did you unlock the special "dirty" Kai/Nariko scenes?

Tease.

20-25? blee that's atleast 10 hours too short.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Umm, no. I didn't even know their were "dirty" scenes. Ninja Theory wouldn't do that to Kai!

20 to 25 hrs need 2 discs for what?

I was hoping this game lasted forever since it's called Infinite Undiscovery. Maybe they should rename this game finite discovery, either way, I'm sure the 25 hours doesn't include cutscenes or sidequests.

'' I remember reading that LOdyssey was about 20~25 hour game and in the end''

I remember that too, and im on disc 4, in the end, (Second playhtrough) with about 60 hours.

20-25h sounds short for IU, but i think its minimum thinking, not including sidequest and other stuff. Hope its longer than Eternal Sonata, at least.

I hear theres a trick in JRPGs that can only be pulled off on a console. Its called the infinate circle of grinding, AKA the powertool. Heres what you do, you push your left stick forward and to the right/left slightly and go round in big circles and fight random encounter after random encounter.

Does this game support the  infinate circle of grinding? I think people are bitter because AFAIK you can't run in a circle and grind as its real time and there are no random encounters.

Tease.

Hmm... Japanese developers are modest and American developers boast? Odd, I never saw that before.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
