THE - meaning one?

I'd probably have to say either Gears of War. I'd attribute that to the fact that 360 was released a year earlier though. I think that there will be new PS3 and Wii franchise's that will give it a run for its money...Possibly LBP or Zombie Killing Girls in Bikini's or whatever that games called.

Well, for shear numbers it has to be Brain Training or Nintendogs.
As for quality, it really depends on the console. You can't compare a good HD console game to a good Wii game because the definition of 'good' is so different (and that's not a rip on either of them)

For HD consoles, I'd say Gears of War or Eye of Judgement. Gears is really well made, and Eye is amazingly innovative.

For the Wii, I don't know. There haven't been a lot of sequels yet. Wii Sports obviously is the game that everyone is talking about, but I honestly think Red Steel has a chance to be a major success this gen. if they manage to make the sequel any good. If they release a second No More Heroes then that takes the cake, but it's questionable whether they're going to do that.

Oh, and The Conduit is gonna be huge!

Edit: Oh, and if you include Guitar Hero, it wins hands down.

Wii (Anything) and Rock Band

In terms of innovation, sales, and profits, it would have to be Nintendogs. 20Million copies and hundreds of knock-off pet games.

The wii series...we already have 3 games (wii sports, wii play, wii fit) and another one coming (wii sports resort) which makes it a franchise. Not like some people are suggesting....1 game does not equal a franchise. SO LBP,Uncharted, bioshock, assansin's creed, no more heroes (you got it right?).... dont count
