Forums - Microsoft - Actual on foot gameplay and proper level from B&K Nuts & Bolts

Instead of the usual hub looking level we have seen with various vehicles, we can now see what is a massive level. The scale is certainly very impressive and for once a video without a single vehicle.

Certainly looks like the actual levels will be a fun place to be.

The footage is on a cam. But its definately the best looking platformer to date. Lets hope there is plenty of on foot gameplay like this. It certainly looks like there will be in the proper levels.

C'mon surely someone is impressed to see no vehicles for a full 2 minutes??????

The fact that it's such a big, virtually flat area which takes ages to move through, with no real interaction with enemies or objects suggests that the area is actually meant for vehicles, and they will likely dominate the entire game, thus making me even more turned off to it.

The problem is that half of that time was him walking to where he was meant to be, I have many other games higher on my priority list

The bolded statement should include "on the 360" or else people won't take you seriously.

This should be a good game.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

And your telling me you missed the obvious plentiful platforming sections scaling the walls that were far to small for vehicles.  And the big green pipe tower that looked fun to work your way up with. I certainly saw plenty of old Banjo platform level designs in there. And flat? did you watch it.

When I say looking I meant graphics. That is rather undeniable. The scale alone is unsurpassed.

Show me them in action and then we can talk. The fact that they showed flatness instead of those sections cause me great concern. And yes, it was flat. Did you watch it? Lots of vast flatness where it's pretty obvious you're most likely meant to use vehicles to move.

I agree that I wanted the player to run up the hill and over the bridge, but he was obviously trying to solve a puzzle of some sort with the foot on the floor.

I don't think it is the best looking platformer to date.

The gameplay video they posted is odd.  It looks unnatural for him to be running for so long.  The player seemed to get bored a couple of times and began to jump.  It looks like this level was designed for a vehicle.  I think this will be a good game, but the video is a bad example.
