god of war 2 came out very late in the ps2s life. the next gen already started. PSP games don't sell well compared to PS2. God of War 3 is one of the few games i'm intersted on the ps3.

Actually....it's not a coincidence.
GoW 3 will beat heavenly sword easily but it won't sell more than metal gear solid

this will be the best selling hack and slash this gen trust me
Sequels almost never do as well as the first when they're released on the same console.
As for COO, well, it's on the PSP...

COO did well but CC:FFVII did better(though that's partially because unlike GoW, FF games actually sell in Japan)
That explains why MGS3 didn't sell as well as MGS2 and FFXII didn't sell as well as FFX
