August 20, 2008 - If your brain wasn't already overloaded by the massive amounts of news pouring out of the German Games Convention, Sony Computer Entertainment America Producer Daimion Pinnock posted over on the Official PlayStation Blog a few minutes ago with another Wednesday megaton.

WipEout HD is coming to the PlayStation Network this fall with Trophies.

The title -- which is download only and will run at 60 frames per second in 1080p -- will pack the best tracks from the pervious installments of the franchise. There's going to be a two-player, split-screen mode and eight-person online races.

Pinnock wrote that players can "opt to use" SixAxis motion controls to pilot their ship, folks can play their own custom soundtrack via the XMB, and that the producer himself will be commenting soon on a price and set release date.

Finally, been waiting a while for this one.

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

PSN Games kisk serious ass IMO. Applause for Sony focusing on quality and creativity over quanity, though i do still want more downloadable classic PS1 games.
