Forums - Nintendo - New Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles Scans

I have no idea how people are saying Dragon's Lair and this are the same thing...

Am I in an alternate universe? Is every on rails game the same? NO.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

i'm referring to the way in which both games are like movies where you sort of control the action.

in dragon's lair (dragon slayer? lol) you hit UP, DOWN, LEFT, or RIGHT....in this new RE game, the screen moves along as well, except the controls are much more involved...shooting zombies and stuff.

that's all...i'm not saying it's a carbon copy of dragon's lair...it's just a similarity.

to be honest, Dragon's Lair was what popped in my head instantly when I saw the trailor for RE: UC.

not trying to be difficult, just trying to clarify my position.

and besides...when's the last time someone mentioned Dragon's Lair on these threads? ? ? that was a cool game, eh!!!

It's been mentioned before (a while ago) and it is nothing like Dragon's Lair. You don't control any of the action in Dragon's Lair. You go to a room make a single input at the right time and go on and make another input and move again. If you make an incorrect input or your timing is off, you're dead. You also forgot about the sword button. RE:UC is just like any other arcade gun game, House of the Dead, Area 51, Time Crisis, Crisis Zone, Virtua Cop. I a thinking that they will put RE elements in the game, like puzzle solving and limited inventory. You're right about Dragon's Lair, very cool game.

Wii Code 8761-5941-4718-0078

Dragon's Lair should not be the game that pops in your head when you see REUC, but whatever. What pops in my head are the good ol' days of Time Crisis, House of the Dead, and other lightgun games. And it takes a lot more than "left, right, up, down" involvement.

On-rail shooters qualify as videogames just as much as many other games...the only difference is that you can't control where you walk in a rail shooter. It still takes skill...and if you don't shoot well, you will die.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

After my third time through RE4 (2 Gamecube. 1 Wii), I'm currently planning to get Umbrella Chronicles. Now I just need to find someone around to play it with. . .

so...when is this game supposed to be released?

so far not actual date. IGN says 'October 2007'.

So the biggest question from me: Can you shoot with two guns?

If it allows up to 4 guns (2 from each player), I'll prolly get it just for the fun factor doing that. Sides, in the trailer, they even showed that girl (forget the name) wielding 2 guns at once...

darconi- I was thinking along those lines. Using 2 wiimotes on a lightgun game would be great fun, I think it would work better on a Time Crisis style shooter though.

Particularly good fun if you could have a different weapon in each hand, a pistol & sword combo would be a massive hit.
