Jesus Starcraft, no it doesnt blend the cover systems. Damnit just because its a cover system doesnt meen its persay "Like others" the cover system is in first person as is the rest of the game, last time I checked uncharted and gears are third person games. And you can get a general "feel" of a game by observing it in ways such as how the the gameplay looks, how the eviroment interacts with the players and vice versa. Also you obveously havnt seen much news on the game because enviroments arnt going to be just "Grey and Brown." It has already been previously stated that the level shown was only one of many different robust levels. Other levels in the game will include things such as forests, and other various landscapes of the helghan planet. Get your information straight. Also it does have a unique look, right now Killzone 2 has some of the best lighting mechanics ever seen in a console game so stfu and stop attacking everyone who has a different opinion other then yourself for christ sakes.

Calm down mate, or you'll get yourself banned.  You're the only one in this thread abusing anyone.

In the same way as the KZ2 devs have said their will be more robust levels, the GeoW2 devs have said the same thing.  The game does not look in anyway unique.  It is certainly very pretty, but that is all.

There are many very impressive graphical touches in this game, but lighting is not one of the most impressive.  Its probably on par with Halo 3 in that regard, though thats certainly not an insult.

So essentially your argument boils down to "they dont take you to third person when you cover, so its a revolutionary game?"

In terms of your sarcastic remarks towards me and Staude you are attacking us... ive explained why the game MAY be revolutionary... read ALL of my past posts in this thread and MAYBE HOPEFULLY you will see where im coming from.

Come on now starcraft, Halo3 had some good lighting effects, but saying its on par with Killzone2 is just crazy.  Killzone2 just takes the lighting so much farther then what was done in Halo3.

Halo3 is no doubt one of the best looking games out on the market to this date in certain aspects, but its starting to show its age with this years titles becoming closer and closer.

Actually, Halo 3 is nowhere near one of the best looking titles on the market.  Indeed, lighting is the one graphical asset Halo 3 has in spades (perhaps draw distance as well).  If you genuinly believe that Killzone 2 is streets ahead of Halo 3 in lighting, then we have a problem.  Lighting is about the only advantage the dual layered resolution gave Bungie.

Killzone2 looks great as usual and the badge system will work great in an organised group.Guerilla, by the looks of this are shaping up to be sony's premium FPS developers. And to the people saying this will be revelutionary, don't be silly and just judge Killzone2 on it's merits as a game shaping up to be a good polished FPS.

Revolutionary is thrown around waaaay too much. Super Mario Galaxy wasn't revolutionary, Killzone 2 will not be revolutionary, MGS4 not revolutionary, Halo 3 not revolutionary.

That isn't the end of the world. A game doesn't have to be a revolution to be a good game. That multiplayer looks great, but it also looks exactly like something I've played a dozen times. Don't take that as an offense anyone, because it's not. I repeat a game doesn't have to be revolutionary to be a good game.

This is the gospel right here. I'd hug you.

clans are going to eat this game right up.

This game will own you.  Sony needs to delay the game to April - May 2009.  Early 2009 is way too crowded with Resident Evil 5ness.

Console Agnostic since 2001.

i am being careful not to get hyped by this game. If the vgchartz review is good i'll buy it.

I've been avoiding the build up for this game like the plague, far to wary of what could be a simple shooter with pretty graphics, and little more. As I'm not the biggest FPS fan, this would inevitable disappoint me.

But, man, it's wearing down my defences. KZ2 is looking pretty fine both as a game and as a graphical showcase.
