Red Octane has announced a Wii specific game mode for Guitar Hero World Tour called Mii Freestyle.

You will use the mote and nunchuck to either play ‘air drums’ or the guitar.

Yeah, but it is included as a free minigame with a full featured game... Please, GHWT, please kill Wii Music.  I really hope it fails, it's an insult to all gamers - casual and core.

So Guitar Hero World Tour will serve as a demo for Wii Music. If the millions of people that buy GHWT like the air guitar game, they can move on to Wii Music for 48 other air music games.

The mode is called Mii Freestyle and will give players the ability to bring in their Mii characters and play different modes, including use the Wii remote and Nunchuk as Air Drums.

Guys, Before we jump to conclusions about what this mode is and what it will allow gamers to do. Let's wait until more is revealed about the modes.

When I saw this I was actually thinking.

Drum solo in led zepplins moby dick.

Guitar solo in freebird lynyrd skynyrd.

Guitar solo in hotel california the eagles.

Then bed.

1) Doesn't seem like something I'll care about personally but nice to hear they're putting in some effort for Wii only owners

2) "Kill Wii Music"? Like others have said if anything this could help Wii Music. Unless they butcher it and people get turned off of the concept completely. If it's even halfway decent and people enjoy it they'll definitely want to play a lot more with more instruments so it'll get more people hyped for Wii Music.
